I just bought a very nice condition copy of the crappy game ARMY MEN: SARGE'S HEROES for the Dreamcast (it was cheap)
The glitch... there are NO CHARACTER MODELS in the game. Not for me, nor for any enemies. The camera is obviously following my invisible third-person character, and the radar shows the locations of all the invisible enemies. My invisible character can shoot and aim, and I take damage from enemy fire until I die. I just never see anyone, including myself. Anyone here heard of this particular glitch in this game? This game was not one of those screwy launch titles like Hydro Thunder that was re-released... it was released in October of 2000.
Any thoughts?

My first though was "That'll teach you for buying an Army Men game."
The only thing that I can suggest is trying to find an image online and burning it hoping to then have a working copy of a game you rightfully own. I've got a Sonic Adventure in nice shape that doesn't work worth a darn. Just bad luck, I guess.

I remember playing a demo for this on a ODCM disc and I found a neat little easter egg I've never heard anywhere else. I'm not sure if it's just in the demo or if it made it into the full game:
In the demo level there were a bunch of enemy bunkers, and if you walked in a certain one and got on top of a bed, the rafters would obscure the top part of the screen. On one, if you turned a certain way, there was a little kids face hidden up there. There may have even been another one, I forget it's been so long....that didn't help, but there's something at least.

Hi
A couple of possible reasons,Its a case of elimination.
1) Game disk(CD)
If there are slight surface scratches on the CD it should make little differance,as long as the CD Laser is healthy.Although fingerprints block the laser quite well.If the lense is clean then it could be that the CD is faulty.
2) CD laser
If your lucky the lense might just need cleaning ( cotton bud stick in a circular motion does the trick),The problem is with CD mechs its not just a case of working or not working they can partialy work and have difficulty reading anything but a new clean CD.
3) DC itself(hardware)
If other games work very unlikely.
sorry to bore you -_-
PS. I used to repair AmigaCD32`s they were a nightmare,Thank god its not one of those you have got!. LOL
