"Flippin'" isn't exactly the word I want to use, but I've tried to play through the tutorial at the beginning of Splinter Cell for the Xbox 4 times over the past month, and I haven't been able to beat it. I'm so sick of having to prove to the computer that I'm worthy enough to play the main game. I finally got through the lockpick challenge after trying that for the millionth time. I realize that this was one of the best games of the year when it came out, but I'll never know how good it is at this rate. It makes me long for the days when there were no extended tutorials to learn the use of every single button on the controller. I know they're going for realism here, but it really sucks out the fun.

BTW, I'm at the part right now with the camera behind the gate and the crate and the 3 shadows. If anybody knows how I can bypass this level or if you have a cheat code, I would appreciate it. If not, I'll just put in Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance and leave Sam Fisher alone until I'm less frustrated.

It's been ahwile since i played the game, but usually to stop a camera, you either sneak from shadow to shadow whilst the camera is pointing in the opposite direction, shoot the camera (if it's one of the destructable kind) or use the camera jammer (located in the inventory) to hold it still as you sneak around.

That's why I never could play Driver. I couldn't get past the freakin' "tutorial" part...just let me play the damn game!

quit while you're ahead :o

it only gets more like that in the main game. i played about a 1/3 of the way thru and just said screw it. i enjoy an element of stealth in my games but not that sort of anal stealth. oh some guy saw my shadow so instead of sniping his head the alarm goes off and i have to play it all over again for the 100th time, no thanks... the lock pick thing just seemed boring to me, neat idea but dull execution. i guess lots of people liked for its great look and realism but i'd rather have something a little more run and gun, i'll take gabe logan over sam fisher anyday.
