View Full Version : Final Fantasy XI -- Account Help

I was under the impression that it was possible for one user to transfer the game to another one, only I'm not sure if this is true. :hmm:

I really like the game, but with my life being as crazy as it is, I just did'nt have time to play it. So last week, after I had allready been billed for the month, I signed on to PlayOnline and closed my account. They said that it would be possible to re-activate it (since it was allready paid for) until the end of the month. I also went to Amazon, found other people there selling used copies of the game with the free month used up, and listed mine.

Fast forward to the present. I sold the game, mailed it off, new person has it, tries to make a user ID with PlayOnline -- and it says they can't do it. Plus the password I wrote in the instruction book to use for MY PlayOnline account is invalid. (I wrote down all the account information on the last page of the instruction book).

What does she need to do with my used copy to allow her to play? I need something to tell her or I'm out $40 and some bad feedback. Help! @_@

She should just need your username and ID that you last had so she can reactivate the account with her credit card. I can't imagine that she would need whatever credit card you had put on the account to reactivate it.

The default one, right? I wrote that information down on the last page of the manual -- my username was SoulBlazer, same as here.

Well, I told her about this topic, so I'll send a e-mail to her tonight about it.

I should add some additional information, and beg someone who actually HAS the game to see if you can help jog my memory on what you do when you get a brand new game.

There's two seperate 'accounts' if I recall correct -- a PlayOnline account (which is the server that controls the online games) and a Content ID account (which is actually for FFXI only). (See how long it's been since I touched this? I can't even remember clearly, which is why I need help!)

Before I decided to cancel my account, I looked ALL OVER the help files online to try to see how I was susposed to do that. I finally came to the conclusion that in order to stop billing and close your Content ID account you had to close your PlayOnline account. (My PlayOnline account username was SoulBlazer and password college, if I recall correctly.)

Ah, hell, now I'm not even sure if I recall what I did. :( I THOUGHT I only closed my Content ID account but now I'm wondering if I closed my PlayOnline account as well -- is it even possible to DO that?

That's why I was really hoping someone who still has the game might be able to tell me what the opening and closing process is and help jog my memorym and see if there's some way to get a used copy to work.
