View Full Version : What the hell happened to Fable for XBOX?

I was digging around in my Garage yesturday, and I found a old Official XBOX magazine.
On the cover was Fable. It talked about it like it was the second coming of Jesus Christ.
I thought to myself, "Damn, what ever happened to that game? Did it ever come out?"
I'm pretty sure that it hasn't come out yet, but does anybody know what the hell happened to this game?

Its supposed to come out in June. I suppose its developing nicely as I've only heard good things about the game.

Yea, this is one of those slow-cookers. It seems like it's been in development forever. But, I am still really excited about this one. I loved KOTOR because you had a lot of freedom, and this one seems to allow you even more.
The scariest question about the whole project is will it really be fun to play, as Peter Molyneux can sure make interesting and unique games, just sometimes his games aren't exactly "fun". For me to play an RPG for any period of time, I usually have to enjoy the combat system and the game mechanics in general. I sure hope this one delivers as promised. After this long, I've got some high expectations for the game to live up to.

along the same note, whatever happened to BC? It was supposed to be one of the most impressive (graphics-wise), and the very most bloody and violent game ever released! I was anxiously awaiting it, but haven't heard anything for a while--anyone got the DL?

Another tidbit, Halo 2 has been re-scheduled for christmas, man, what a f'ing bummer...
It'll probably be worth the wait though, but damn.

I think that its slated to come out this year also. The last I saw of the game the graphics did look impressive. I wasn't too excited about the gameplay, but it could be good.

Who cares? Unreal Tournament 2004 will be out far before Halo 2, and it will be the superior game.

Last I read was they were going to try & get Fable out the door before B.C. Both games look really interesting to me.

At this pace these games will be released for a dead XBOX. The machine is in the end of its commercial life and must-have titles like these ones are desperately needed to keep the system afloat.
The bright side is that at least they will not be rushed games, like 'Enter the Matrix'.

What about that game that I think was called Malice? Something about a little girl with a great big hammer? I remember seeing it in magazines about a year or so ago thinking that it looked nice. Haven't heard of it since though.

I was sort of wondering about that one, too. But since I'm not planning on filling out my Xbox library until a few years from now, I'm not going to let it bother me too much.

Fable by June? I dunno about that. Molyneux hits deadlines like Suns rise in the West. Black & White, though rad, was delayed for *years*.

It was on the cover of the October 1998 issue of PC Gamer. And they STILL say it'll blow everything away when it's released.
