PSOne LCD Screen (Sony official) - $50

PSOne COMBO - $100

Needless to say, I bought the COMBO even though I already own it. Some might say a waste of money, but this will be my back-up unit, and that's a damn good price. I figure, with years....I will still pay $30 or so for the PSOne WITHOUT the LCD screen USED, and even then it is a USED system and I won't know how well (or bad) the previous user handled the system, or how many hours of use or abuse the thing has had. Add to it the screen, and I figure it'll eventually be around $60 USED as the going rate years from now. Once again, I'm getting this new and can care for it as I would do so, without questions about previous ownership. Used SNES and NES systems go for $40 around here, so I'll expect something like this in the years to come, plus this is an optical media player, so I'll still cross my fingers.

Holy crap, i really want to go pick that up. I couldn't think of a better thing to have with me on the way to LA for E3. They make batteries for those things right?

But, that's a double edged sword, can't afford to buy it because I'm going to E3! Stop posting this kinda stuff and I won't feel torn ;)

No problem. I didn't have cash on hand, so I had to rush to Best Buy and have them do a price match (because I have a "card" there ;) ).

As far as battery packs go, I found one a couple months back at a GameStop for $5. They are on eBay. I purchased this PSOne combo I think on Saturday, so hopefully it wasn't a "sale". It did say EVERYDAY LOW PRICE or something like that next to the price. It was in white, so I don't know if they are clearancing these out or what. I noticed Best Buy has pretty much rid of their PS1 stock after Christmas :( There's still MANY games I want to get.. (just starting buying PS1 last year)

But those screens are so SMALL! How can you possibly play a game on a four inch screen? O_O

I can't think of a better way to spend 4 hours of plane rides, playing some RPG. Total bonus.

Yeah, I've seen the screens. I've tried them out at places like EB. Maybe it's my eyes, but trying to see anything on a 4 inch screen just a foot away from my face was next to impossible. ESPECILY a RPG where you have to read text.

At least with the GBA SP the games are made for the small screen and you can pull it in closer or farther depending on need, or hook it up to my Game Boy Player, which is how I play mnay GBA games anyway. :)

Hey, I posted about this a few months ago.

The real trick is that Best Buy still sells them for $150. Go pricematch against Circuit City and save even more.
