My Gamecube seems to be quite noisy when it loads from games. For example, I was playing Goblin Commander yesterday and it makes a pretty loud sqeaking sound on the load screens. I tried the exact same game in my son's GC and it wasn't nearly half as loud (it still made some noise, but was much quieter.
Now I bought both GC's about the same time (Christmas) and I actually use mine much less then he uses his. Any ideas or advice?

Throw it...... no don't do that.
trade it in, put up the extra $10 and buy another one.

I was hoping there was some explanation and possibly some way to fix it myself.

You say you bought these this last xmas?
Just do a warranty return if you are concerned about the noise.

Put tape over the lid. More seriously, I can't really help you there buddy. I wonder if you could replace that cooling system? I better go check...

I had a PC once that had problems with the cooling fan--which, I'm assuming, is the noisy component of your Game Cube. This was before I knew how to use a screwdriver, so every time it would start to whir loudly, I would stick an unbent paper clip through the fan cover. This would stop the turning blades, and the noise would subside for a time. Eventually, it stopped making noise altogether; I sure taught him a lesson!
Oh, and evilmess is right about the warranty return.
