Back in the day, I had a game for the Amiga in which you essentially were taught a massive and detailed history of this dead planet by a records computer; It was a very strange game, if it could even be called that. Anyone have any frikking idea what I'm talking about?

I'm pretty sure that the intro screen or the manual or something had a white face suspended in midair.

You must be talking about 'Portal' from Activision. A most excellent game (more a story than a game), were Homer, the earth's last computer tells you the story where all the people have disappeared to. This is in my top ten of best games for C-64 (also had Amiga, PC and ST release).

Can't remember the floating white face though......

Mmm, that sounds like it! My god, I can hardly believe anyone recoginzed this based on my sketchy description. I can hardly wait to 'play' this.

Never heard of this game, but sounds fun. Anyone know where they can find a C-64 or PC version for download?

C64 version may well be available from http://www.gamebase64.com website, they do have the only 100% emulator version of it. Failing that, you can look on eBay either for originals, or the Activison 15 game pack PC CD from years ago, which emulates it also.
