Well, I rather like tapping the frozen sea of information here at DP, so I have another question for the collecting forum. I'm interested in games on CD which, when put into a CD player, turn into that game's soundtrack! This is also known as the blue book format, I believe. There are plenty of computer games that have this nice feature, no doubt. Here is what I've found so far:

PC
Heroes of Might & Magic II: The Succession Wars
Heroes of Might & Magic II: The Price of Loyalty
Warcraft
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Mission Pack: Eagle Watch
Outpost

PlayStation
Surely there are some games that can go here.

Also, I have heard that DOOM for the PC works in a CD player, but I am unable to confirm this.

Because there are probably few sources regarding this info (as it is often an unadvertised feature), I expect responses to slowly trickle in. So... Start trickling!

Um, I believe it's RED book.

And I recall Sonic CD was this way too.

IIRC, quite a few Saturn games were aswell. I'll have to give them a spin to check though.

Um, I believe it's RED book.
Nope. The red book defines the music CD standard. Blue has the data + music standard.

Well, damn near all Saturn and Sega CD titles fit into this as well as a lot of PSX stuff. The first Quake for PC did, and the one PS1 game I know for sure is N2O. Some great remixes of Crystal Method's Vegas album on there. A lot of TG16 and PCE CDs do this as well.

I think all PC Engine/Turbo Grafx 16 cd fall into this catagory but I havne't tested all the ones I have. Ys Eternal has it as well, part 2 probably has it too but I've haven't tried it out.. From what I remember not to many Saturn games have it. You could listen to a few of the tracks but if your looking for a full soundtrack your probably not going to fnd one or at elast the ones I tested didn't have a full soundtrack.

These Mac games have regular CD audio tracks; I would think the PC versions do as well:

Descent 2
The Journeyman Project
Mechwarrior 2
Warcraft II Expansion
Marathon 2

You can also try searching CDDB (http://www.gracenote.com/music/) for "CD-ROM".

I know Wipeout for the Playstation does this (awesome soundtrack to boot).

Don't know about too many more, I should do this more often, because I know there are a lot of odd extras thrown onto Playstation discs.

For the saturn, I know that Galactic Attack and Tempest 2000 both are like this. Hell I made a GA soundtrack off of the normal disc :D

Saturn:

Falcom Classics
Galaxy Fight
Keio Yugekitai
All 4 Super Real Mahjong Games

BTW, Sonic CD is missing a couple of tracks on the normal game CD (Starlight Speedway Past is an example)

Gawd, I can check my PSOne, PS2,XBox and GCN stuff... will take a LONG while, but could be fun.

I do know that Castlevania: Symphony Of The Night for the PSOne has a cool Techno track on it, as well as a do not play this track its data warning.
Y's I and II for the TG16 (cd) has a whole mess of songs on it and was the reason that I got it in the first place, since i dont even own a TG16.
