I can't wait either. I've got this pre-ordered too. I also have the original Steel Battalion + controller per-ordered as well. I wish the release dates for the two weren't so close together though...I'm only going to have about 2 days to practice with the original until I get LoC. I'm sure I'll be humiliated on Live but at least I'll have fun doing it.

(what does "pwning" mean? is that some kind of SB jargon?)

It's OK. Steel Battalion anticipation makes people do CRAAAAAZY things sometimes.

Anyway, "pwn" is an online gamer corruption of "own", and did not at all originate with Steel Battalion, which has no online component as of today (*sob*). Please let me know if you need further detail.

As you will only have two days to learn SB before LOC launches, you will undoubtedly be "owned" and/or "pwned" a few times, at least in the beginning. You can always hope that you run into someone greener than you are...

The amount of 'pwnage' I dispense will be very small. Not having a suitable device on which to place the gargantuan controller has hindered my ability to play the game.

Seriously tho, I'm hoping Nork will invite me over to look at this thing when he gets it. Otherwise, it's hard to justify $200 on something I may not like.

Do a google search for "Steel Battalion Central" and check out the Mission 4 walkthrough. Or remember these two words: "Indestructible warehouse"

And even if you can't ever beat Mission 4, I doubt you'd be the only LOC player who could claim that.

I actually found the strategy guide for $4 at Gamestop and picked it up (haven't used it yet though). I found the warehouse, but I seem to keep my head out just a little too much.

Nothing says "fear" like 9 bigass rockets headed straight towards your face.

If you can keep Oscar 1 and 2 from being destroyed by enemy VTs, then they will distract the Zhen Yan, which will keep firing at them (most of the time), taking the heat off of you, and they will keep getting back up. For some reason (probably so you can pass Mission 4 before smashing your controller), the Zhen Yan's shells can not deliver the death blow to your AI team mates.

Of course, if you see the gun batteries swing toward you, then it's probably time to cower once again.

I snagged Steel Batallion a few days after it came out, and its still sitting in its big pretty ammo box....but with the online component finally comming stateside, i have this itching feeling that the box wont be sealed for much longer, even though there is ABSOLUTELY no place i can put the bohemeth in proximity to my gaming setup........details details....
