Was that 2002??? Damn, it seems like just yesterday GamingForce Audio had those coveted mp3s up for the public.
"The Man with the Machine Gun" was a cool song, if I remember correctly--not one of the best, but it surprised me that a decent song was from a later FF game (9, I think). I've only heard it in its orchestrated version.

Sounds cool. I loved the music from FF X and haven't really payed attention to the other FF songs, but i'm sure they are as good. Where do you get the MP3's for the japan concert?

Why... why god why. It had to be on the opposite coast from me. I would kill anyone to see this. Well, not anyone, but my english teacher would go.

I ended up finding out about the 2002 concert by accident. I was downloading A One-Winged Angel and came across one listed as some concert version. So I downloaded that one as well and really liked it so I looked up on the 2002 concert.
When I get the cash I'm buying the cds from it.

Did you get the bootleg or official version? They're both fairly prominent online.

I didn't buy the cds yet, I only downloaded the concert verison of One Winged Angel. I don't remember if Mitsuwa had the orginials or not, I think so judging by the $30 price tag.

I dont really have an intrest to go see some people performing music from a game. It just seems boring to me. Sometimes in Computer class though i turn on some Final Fantasy music. Some of it is relaxing.

Well, John Williams back when he was with the Boston Pops did some music from Zelda. :) Did they have a CD of that? I only found the MP3's online.
And I saw those CD's of the Japanese concert.
BTW -- I have TWO other officialy made CD's of Final Fantasy music done by actuall orchastras. The name of the first one escapes me right now -- I think it's called "Music from Final Fantasy" and has music from FF6, 7 and 8, done by the Hollywood Symphony Orchastra. The other is called "Grand Finale" and just has FF6 music done by a group in Japan.
Oh, and it's not really a orchastra, but the new CD "The Black Mages" has a mess of FF songs from all games done by a rock band in hard rock style. 8-)
All of those CD's are great and are some of my personal favorites! FF music ROCKS! I only wish this was closer to my location.
BTW, "The Man With The Machine Gun" is also known as "Laguna's Theme" and plays during his battle scenes in FF8. A very good song.

...he's not with them anymore? >O

Yeah, he left them years ago. :)
And Black Mages ROCKS. The best song on there is the full version of the one that plays during the battle with Kefka at the end of FF6.

Um, are you sure about that? All the so-called Boston Pops video game MP3s I've seen are mislabelled Tokyo Philharmonic pieces, from the Orchestral Game Concert series.
The best site I have ever found for video game music albums, including arranged versions, is http://www.soundtrackcentral.com . It seems the orchestral version of One-Winged Angel originally came from the FF7 Reunion Tracks album. I am partial to the orchestrated version of the FF7 Main Theme myself.

Really? Hum, very interesting. I never knew that. I just know what the label was and that it was defentily a group doing a Zelda song live. And I'll check out the link later, thanks. :)

Yeah, I know - I never post here, but since it's a subject close to my heart, since it's linked from the front page, and since there are some misconceptions in this thread, I'll clear some of them up:
- As far as I know all the Boston Pops or John Williams video game MP3s would have to be mislabeled tracks from the Game Music Concert (or Orchestral Game Concert) CDs that are recordings of 1990s concerts of Super Famicom music held in Tokyo.
- Aside from the OGC series, there are two CDs featuring live concert recordings of FF music. One is Symphonic Suite Final Fantasy (1989). The second is 20020220 Final Fantasy (2002). These are Japan-only. The CD from the Hollywood Symphony Orchestra is an American release and, uh, isn't by an orchestra - it's by one guy and his computer. (It's pretty awful.)
- Final Fantasy VII Reunion Tracks features three orchestra-performed studio recordings of FFVII songs; FFVI Grand Finale is a full album of such recordings by the Milan (Italy) Symphony Orchestra.
- The Black Mages indeed performed in concert, but the CD is a studio album.

Thanks for the information.
I disagree with you strongly on Hollywood CD -- although if it's only one guy, why does it say Orchestra on the front? :hmm: I really enjoyed the FF 6 and 7 music on the CD -- it was only some of 8 I did'nt care for.
So, Grand Finale was done in Italy? That would explain the opera song. LOL
Black Mages is a little short -- 10 songs -- but all of them are very well done, and like I said, a amazing version of the final Kefka boss song from the end of FF6.

Heh. It says Orchestra on the front so it sells better. ;)
I think it was Orchestral Game Concert 3 that had a 22-minute rendition of the Opera from FFVI. It didn't really mean much to me (I have got to play FFVI one of these days), but it's gotten rave reviews from some people.
I've often wondered: Were the three orchestral tracks on the FFVII Reunion Tracks CD originally intended to be used in the game? See, there are "choir members" listed in the credits for FFVII, but all of the music in the game is MIDI, so a choir would be redundant.
