I'm talking about their olden day Arcade classics that eventually got ported to the NES that they made in the days before the NES. (And after the NES was released. Any early 80's Nintendo Arcade game.)

I'll start it off with what I can think of off the top of my head:

Mario Bros.
Wrecking Crew
Wild Gunman
Balloon Fight
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
Donkey Kong 3
Popeye
Punch-Out
Clu Clu Land
Ice Climbers

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I know I've missed some.

Was Ice Climber in the arcades before the NES?

I think Clu Clu Land, Wrecking Crew, Wild Gunman, and Balloon Fight were all for the Vs. system, and were thus actually ported from the NES versions.

Also, I know Nintendo did Sky Skipper, and Space Fever (I think that's the name).

Forget "Before" the NES. I should have worded it better. How about all the Early 80's Nintendo Arcade games.

Can't believe I forgot Ice Climbers!

I edited my post to add it.

Edit: Let's put it this way. Any Nintendo made game from the 80's that was put on in the Arcade. (And wasn't just exclusive to PC-10 systems. I don't count those.)

Were they actually made by Nintendo? Published isn't the same thing. I want ones that Nintendo themselves programmed.

Back in those days Nintendo made all their own arcade games. NES games are another matter. I definetly remember Radar Scope because that is the game that all the first Donkey Kong games were made from because nobody was playing Radar Scope and Nintendo did not want to waste all that hardware.

I read that back in the day, they realized their Radar Scope game wasn't doing well and they needed a new hit ASAP. They called on Mayamoto and asked him to come up with a game. Donkey Kong was born.

Great story. Great game. Great use of Recycling.

yeah radar scope bombed in the US, and the Nintendo America in New York nearly went bankrupt. mayamoto just came up with the concept of donkey kong, because a project he was working on got scrapped, also he did the music for DK. He didnt know how to program at the time.

I loved Sky Skipper after playing it in Mame. I wish Nintendo had made an Nes port of that. There was a port of it on the Atari 2600, though it only vaguely resembled the arcade game.

Did anyone ever notice how much harder the Vs. arcade version of Super Mario brothers is then the NES version. its not a huge difference, but there is more holes and enemies. I want to sit down and compare the 2 one day. Level by level.

One thing about the list of ROMs in MAME is that there's no support for the Super System (I think that's the name?) "PlayChoice-10 but with SNES" system. I'm not sure what was released for it, but a healthy number of early games were. One site listed Contra 3 as one of the games...now there's your third arcade Contra :) Could've been incorrect though.

Was Killier Instinct the LAST arcade game that Nintendo made? They shut down their US arcade operations in 1992, I think.

Yes, contra 3 was on the Super System. So was Super Mario World, F-Zero, and Super Tennis. I think there was only one more for it but don't remember which one. So that would make only 5 games released for the super system. I don't think contra was made by nintendo so you really can't count it anyways.
I had a chance to buy a Super System in great shape about a year back for about $250. I wish I didn't pass that one up now!
