Well, I wanted to make my 2000th post here a good one, and I found inspiration for it tonight while checking out some atari sites. :)

On this site, I found this article:

http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/elevator/elevator.htm

Can anyone fill in the background behind it? Who here found it, and when? What's the story behind it? Was the game made available for sale? Any old threads still around about it? Why was the game never released?

Ask Tempest on this board because that is his site so he would know at least part of the story.

Answers to some of your Qs:

The game was made available for sale at CGE2K1, complete with a professional box and a BW instruction manual. It was never released because it's unfinished and there isn't any sound. It looks great though, and plays surprisingly well considering that it's not complete. I think it sold out, but you can always check out the CGE page for the official word at www.cgexpo.com. :)

I didn't realize Joe's favorite system was the Genesis. I thought it was the PC Engine. For some reason when I read his post it came off that he just loved that system.

Yea, only problem is Tempest hasn't been at these boards since August 11th. :o . I have the CGE version of this game, that's the only place it was released. Never commercially.
