so, i've found my ps1 DexDrive to be a fairly useful tool (although my n64 dex is sitting here, never having been hooked up...). anyway, i'm pretty sure there wasn't a "DexDrive" made for dreamcast, but i was wondering if something similar has been made, to allow you to get those saves on your PC... also, if anyone has one, how well do they work? is there more than one brand made?

any help is appreciated =)

There was a 4x memcard w/ a parellel cable. I have one, but I've never actualy hooked it up. It has to be in a controller in a powered up DC to work.

did it come with any software for the PC?

I think you were supposed to downloa the drivers for it, amd I'm not sure if I ever did that. It will hopefully just get recognized as a removable drive by Windows. Maybe next week I'll have to check this out.

I have one from EMS, and just like ddokery I didn't test it out either. but I know that you can grab saves on the internet and download them directly into your vmu so I'm sure the opposite must be possible

There was the MPX-change by Blaze Technologies that supported GB/N64/PSX and was cited to have a DC adapter that was available. I haven't seen one, and I can't find anything on their site about it, but I might have been too late to the party.

I have a Nexus Massive Memory Card Plus... it has 8 banks of memory (1600 blocks total), and came with a cable to hook into a PC's parallel port. It came with software for it, but frankly, the software was terrible. I only bothered trying it once, after which I was too worried that the program would bugger up and corrupt my save files or something.

Oh, and it's also worth pointing out that you can use the Dreamcast web browser to send and receive VMU files via email... You can also use the web browser to download (and upload perhaps?) VMU files from web pages if you want. This is probably a lot easier than screwing around with the Nexus cards.

I have a loose VMU, with out a cord... I intend to someday use it for Fire Pro Wrestling D, as it's far easier then hooking the DC to the internet.

Also released was a device that looks like a mini dreamcast called the Double Power. This will copy all files from one memory card to another or you can hook it to a computer and save/download saves. The double power and the Nexus cards used a computer program called DC Linker that is probably available on the Internet. The last time I looked there was a couple different versions available.
