I was thinking of making a list of the worst translated games, or the most written mistakes in games such as Zero Wing...
So far, we've got:
Acrobat Mission (Super Famicom/Arcade)
Battle Rangers (Arcade)
Blazing Star (Neo-Geo)
Cham Cham (Neo-Geo)
Download (PCE)
Dragon Warrior VII (PSX)
Final Fantasy IV (SNES)
Final Fantasy VII (PSX)
Ghosts & Goblins (NES)
Great Greed (Gameboy)
Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie (Super Famicom)
Manhattan Requiem (LaserActive)
Metal Gear (MSX2/NES)
Milon's Secret Castle (NES)
Mobile Light Force (PSX)
Operation Wolf 3 (Arcade)
Pop'n Music (series [Arcade/PSX/PS2/Dreamcast/GBC])
R-Type (NES/Arcade)
Rock On (PCE [Japan])
Samurai Showdown II (Neo-Geo)
Shooter Space Shot (PSX)
Suikoden II (PSX)
Super Hydlide (Genesis)
Vajra (LaserActive)
X-Men (Arcade)
Zero Wing (Megadrive)
SNK Games in general!!!
Can you think of any others?

You know, FF4 is still my favorite in the series, but it was'nt until I played the port on the Playstation that I realized just how BADLY the original translation on the SNES SUCKED.
Suikoden II did'nt have the best translation either, but it was'nt THAT bad, and again, it does'nt take away from a awsome game.
Dare anyone mention the SNK games? LOL

LOL
Here's a quote from Operation Wolf 3, "A few years after huge force of terrorists "Skull" occupied some island they are armed with nuclear weapon".
That Whazzat site has a lot of good stuff!

How about at the beginning of the first Zelda game: "It's dangerous to go alone" and the old man hands Link a sword? :D
8-Bit Master

What about the end credits for the original R-Type?
"The Bydos Empire was defeated, never to scare people again."
What about the X-Men arcade game from Konami?
Magneto ~ "I am the master of magnet"
"Welcome to your die!"
There are countless dumb things mentioned in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest as well.

Final Fantasy 7 was pretty horrid.

Dragon Warrior 7 has a ton of spelling errors that really bother me... Rock On has horrible Engrish, but it is Japanese only PC Engine game, so...

Check out Shooter Space Shot for PSX, it's laughably bad, both in translation and quality of FMV. :D

Manhattan Requieum on the LaserActive had...a LOT of pronoun problems (most of the she's are referred to as he's by at least 4 characters), typos abound, and a lot of times what they say doesn't match up to the sub-title below.
Ah, fuck it, *every* LaserActive game had some insanely bad translation problems. Vajra's manual looks like a drunken monkey typed it.

I always thought the Samurai Shodown games were pretty bad for this. I mean for crying out loud, they mispelled "Victory", even when it's displayed after just about every match. SNK really needs to ask their American offices for help with these translations... they're just awful.

In Super Hydlide, a townsperson refers to the major villain as the "dark overload from byond." That game is filled with half-assed translation work and non-localized in-game jokes that end up making no sense.

Milon's Secret Castle for the NES. Check out the box and manual if you get a chance. LOL
XS Games "translation" of Gunbird (psx) as Mobile Light Force got to be one of the worst ever. They didnt even try, they just removed all cut scenes and end sequences (and threw out the art gallery while they where at it), awfull renaming, redubbing and hideus cover, maybee it's not as much of a translation as it is a butchering.

The worst translated games are the best translated games :D
Samurai Shodown II -
LONG LONG AGO, THERE WERE A MAN
WHO TRY TO MAKE HIS SKILL
ULTIMATE. BECAUSE OF HIS BLOODY
LIFE, IT'S NO ACCIDENT THAT HE
WAS INVOLVED IN THE TROUBLES.
That, and Cham Cham's infamous "All creature will die and all the things will be broken. That's the law of the samurai." Or the referee's inscrutable comment made after flipping over Cham Cham at the castle: "Horrible atmosphere."
Gotta go with Metal Gear as well...are you feeling asleep today?

Great Greed. Any game in which "I fell an evil presence behind this door. I hope you're ready." becomes "Enter" I consider to have a bad translation.

List edited. I added Battle Rangers because of the following reasons:

Don't forget Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie for the Super Famicom:
The Legend has not finished. It's the song and the war. So fighting again the Scrambled Valkyrie.
We got a new machine, for the fighting. Now the time to scramble Valkyrie again.

In Super Hydlide, a townsperson refers to the major villain as the "dark overload from byond."
Speaking of which, has it ever been determined whether "Dark Falz" from Phantasy Star was the result of poor translation or not?

The Pop'n Music series (Arcade/PSX/PS2/Dreamcast/GBC) has goofy Engrish all over the place.
"Very very thank you for your playing!"

Great Greed? Namco's Game Boy RPG?

That's what he's inquiring... I'm taking your opinions for this list, so I can't test each game to make sure you're telling the truth. Even though it would be cool to test all of them! :D

Sanvein for the Playstation (at least the Euro version) is pretty bad. It doesn't even have much in-game text, but it's full of stuff like "remain of time recover", "clear the stage of boss-floor", "select next floor which you advance operation at", "thank you for your playing" and "Sanvein reached to mine".
The manual is slightly better (it looks like it was at least edited by a native English speaker), but there are still a few lines like "4 Type control unit, specially strengthened people Spirit Gauge", "Colony Utopia covered by the defender St. Shutz", "When Remain of Time becomes 0, the game is over", and "Shoot for more points, time-rich warrior!!!".
