Crossbow for the Atari 2600

Nobody talks about this game much. At all. I have been trying so hard to beat this game, and just can't do it. I get pretty far but die and then have to start over. Has anyone here beat it, any tips?
I have never tryed the arcade version, although its on my dream machine list. Any good of an arcade game?

It's an awesome arcade game. My local skating rink had it as a kid and I dropped more than my fair share of quarters into it.

Crossbow is one of those games with unique controllers. Using a joystick doesn't emulate standing at a machine aiming a crossbow at it.
