Saw this in Game Informer....Sammy (the developer responsible for the Guilty Gear series) is actually going to make a PS2 GAME based on the GREATEST MOVIE EVER MADE, THE SEVEN SAMURAI. WHY???
What's next?

The Godfather - You, as Michael Corleone, have to help the Mafia stay in power...just watch out for those oranges!
The Seventh Seal - You'll need to be a chess master to defeat Death!

Dude, really? I think Seven Samurai could make a cool game.
Alright. Casablanca - Solve intricate puzzles and exchange dialogue with a wide and colorful cast to unravel the location of the letters of transit. Can you escape Casablanca and make it to Lisbon?
...I don't know, that sounds pretty good too. Maybe I have bad taste.

@buttasuperb: Are you talking about the Criterion DVD? If so, I would say YES, IT IS WORTH YOUR 35 BUCKS. Unless you're looking for a good martial arts movie, which SOME people expect Seven Samurai to be....
And yes, theredeye, it's true. I doubt it'll be sent across the pond, though. Damn, Casablanca does sound like a cool game! :lol:

Hey, I agree that Seven Samurai is the greatest movie ever, and I've ALWAYS thought it would make a terrific game. It would work best as a combination of Harvest Moon and Tenchu (or maybe even Rainbow Six). Think about it. You're controlling a small band of Samurai who are being paid only in food. Your success in "score" should be based on how well you help the farmers manage their land. The Tenchu aspects would kick in each harvesting season when your land is attacked by bandits. You control each of the warriors like Tenchu but switchable like the Tom Clancy games.
Someone figured it out. I don't know if they envision the game like I do, but I have to see this report now!

Yeah, that does sound interesting...just be careful...the farmers may try to kill you. Remember:
"The farmer is a foxy beast!" :lol:

I think you should have the freedom to kill the farmers, too.
"What the fuck? Where did you get that food? YOU DIE!"
Kill farmer, take food, regain strength. Just think Morrowind.
This game is sounding better and better. I'd love a good Seven Samurai game.

Well, Captain....
Perhaps the game industry is taking a cue from the movie industry. Consider the following movies that are based on the story of "The Seven Samauri"....
Ever heard of "The Magnificent Seven"?
Or how about "A bug's life?".... I think it's the 67th-highest grossing movie in the world of all time (not adjusted for inflation)......
