And for any of you that chose, for no good reason, to just skip it and stay home watching the tube - :P SNL hasn't been that good for years.

Seriously, not many of us made it, but it was a lot of fun. Jeff's basement is really sweet. There was much Dreamcast goodness, some Rez, Super Monkey Ball, somebody got 344k on NES Arkanoid, MAME, Pizza, beer chips, soda, a bit of trading, and the usual hanging out.

And off-topic, as I was waking up on the Turnpike at 70mph and scaring myself (at which point I rolled down the window, turned up the stereo, and became far more vigilant to any tendency to sleep), I started regretting having stayed until 1:30am. Of course, just before I left my house at 5:30 I launched a full virus-scan of an Inspiron I'm working on for a client. I arrived home about 3am, it's now 3:30am, and the sonofabitch is STILL going!!! Maybe I should have stayed longer. :D

Off to bed for me now.

SJC1 wrap up:

The event begins with some BIG screen gaming. Conversation dominates. Snacks consumed. Don's swag raided. Pizza ordered. Trading begins. Don somehow scores Goblin's Stunt Cycle. I try and fail to conjure up a workable VCS for Drexel. Everyone takes a break to bad mouth Joe who is not in attendance. Pizza consumed. Episode I collection laughed at. Steve manhandles MAME setup. Next gaming session dominated by Toy Commander. Party crashed by cousins. Snacks consumed. Steve plays an endless game of Arkanoid. Event concludes in the wee hours.

Highlights:

---Drexel pronounces NES "Nezz"

---cheesesteak pizza rules

---don't even try to play Radiant Silvergun with Saturn remotes

---NFL Street is a good game to play if you want to converse without being distracted by "gameplay"

---Don likes the N-Gage

---it's not enough to defeat someone at Soul Calibur; post-victory kicking mandated

---no gaming collection is complete without Episode I Soap

Stay tuned for SJC2!

8-)

LOL

I had a great time...Jeff once again, thanks for having us over. It wasn't a big crowd but we definitely had some fun. And Joe using the oldest trick in the book :shameful: I can't wait for the next time. :D

It was a good time, we could have used a few other people, but we had fun. Jeff and his wife are good hosts. There was disappointment that our leader abondoned the troops, but we managed just fine without him.

Trading was limited by the number of people, but everyone worked out some deals. Between Don's swag boxes, and deals with Kid Ice, and Drexel I managed to come home with more stuff than came with.

---cheesesteak pizza rules

Yes it does.

---no gaming collection is complete without Episode I Soap

This was one of the funiest things I've seen in a while.
