Th SEGA Saturn modchip should only be uded to play backups of games you own. Backing up rare games is a great way to preserve the originals, and a great reason to get the modchip.

Also, it is nearly impossible to find the 20 pin compatible modchips anymore. The only ones that can still be found are the 21 pin modchips, and those ones work only with Saturns with the round power button. If you have oval buttons, you may as well give up on ever getting a modchip for it. You'll need another (round buttoned) Saturn.

I got mine from here http://www.jandaman.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=satmod but they are sold out right now. I'm of the opinion that anyone who wants a saturn modchip to use backups, better get moving. If production isn't over now, it will no doubt finish soon.

ok thanks. yea i bought a round button saturn because of the 21 pin. the oval button you can swap but my motor eventually broke :( to play radiant silvergun and panzer dragoon saga id need close to 400 dollars.... so 5 dollars for the backups or 400 for the originals? most people cant afford that.

Backups should not be purchased as it is piracy. As a matter of fact, discussing it here will get the thread LOCKED with good reason. How and what you do with the modchip is ultimately your responsibility, BUT PIRACY and methods of aquiring pirated software are not permitted discussion on these boards.
