I am looking for someone,(or a group of people) who can mod my Atari and Nes with AV cables. Do people do it? I have a top loader, but am tired of the "lined effect" . My atari in crystal clear AV would be sweet! Can anyone help me out? Please PM me.

I can do the 2600, but in all honesty you probably couldn't afford my rates since I've got very little free time for the next 2 months. I could possibly get to it after that, or else if your offer is really good trade/sell you my system. I know a plug and play modification was being developed that allows even the novice to get A/V out. Not sure if it ever came out.
It is my understanding the NES "line effect" exists even with an AV mod. I could be wrong. It never bothered me enough to screw with mine.

Did Scott "Superstonic" say something before about modding 2600s?

Atari2600.com Modification Service- Would you prefer the ease and certainty that comes with factory service? Atari2600.com offers a mail-in Atari 2600 S-Video Modification featuring the CyberTech S-Video Card.

I would do it, but not for $50!! That's more than I paid for 2 systems and about 40 games!

Sounds like I need to go to Atari 2600.com then! $50.00 to me is not bad, it is worth a crystal clear picture!
I built my own Atari 2600 video amp board a couple of years ago. I found a schematic diagram on the internet (a fairly complicated one requiring a CD4050 chip and several other components) that outputs fantastic S-video. I would assume it's about the same thing as the pre-made amp board you can buy now. Do it! You'll love it!
I've also A/V modded my top-loading NES, and the stripes DO still show up. Everything looks a lot better, but if you want to lose the stripes, you'll have to stick with the old "toaster" style.
I should also add that my Japanese AV Famicom (which looks almost exactly like our US top-loaders on the outside) does NOT suffer from the vertical stripes problem. And you can easily hook it up to a Famnicom Disk System!
