Hs anyone actually played this yet?
I normaly like the Bond games and I've either rented all of them or bought them cheap. This one looks like a winner. The graphics are very good, there's some talented actors in it, and the gameplay looks fun.
I'm leaning toward the GC version cause I do everything I can to support that system. :D

I played a xbox demo and the only complaint I have is that its not a FPS. The gameplays pretty good with lots of varity, rent it first and see if ya like it.

I've got the full version for Xbox. The "Everything" in the title really talks about what the game has: just about "everything".
-3rd person gunning, running and stealth (a lot of Syphon Filter can be seen here).
-Driving sequences that require you to navigate about small and large areas (think Driver).
-A large variety of gadgets to inflict pain on your enemies and solve puzzles.
-Frantic action or a slow pace: it's up to you (like Metal Gear Solid).
My bro-in-law and I have been tackling this game since Wednesday. The biggest thing we both discovered is that it's a "jack of all trades, master of none." Most of the 3rd person sequences are pretty tight. Running, walking, toggling between crouching or hugging a wall are fairly intuitive. Until you get into a firefight. You can't "aim" your gun, you have to rely on the game's lock on system which is problematic it's never consistant. If you are hugging a wall and you are trying to shoot someone around the corner and another attacker walks past you or enters your area you can't lock on or switch to that new target. We had to literally stand away from the wall, spin the camera around and THEN we could lock. The game seems to assume that you want to target from YOUR perspective and NOT Bond's. This is proved by trying to shoot a sniper one floor above me in a house. I had to fiddle with the camera to get it just right so I could lock on but the camera would shift back to normal view and I'd lose the lock. Even when you CAN see the people the lock doesn't always work. The only other way to lock onto other people or special objects is the "Bond view" (or whatever the game calls it). Press left on the D pad and everything goes blue and into a slow-mo. Here you can select weapons and see what's targetable which you can switch to. All well and good but this mode interrupts the flow of action IMO.
Another 3rd person issue is Bond's inability to do typical human things his opponents can do. I understand that there are obstacles in place that force you to follow a path but when you see a barrier that's only waist high and the bad guys can either vault or straddle over the obstacle and you can't makes me wonder what the developers were thinking. Games of this caliber have evolved to give your hero a wide variety of moves (MGS 2 comes to mind) why not follow that route and not step backwards. Also Bond can't jump-he only does diving rolls. There is one ability that no human should be able to do that I have seen a few times in this game: pass through barracaded doorways. I have seen bad guys emerge in room where the door is otherwise locked, never opened when the guy came through or was visibly secured (boarded, blocked, etc.).
Driving is also a mixed bag. GTA or Driver this game is not. There are two real modes of driving: the linear and the "full range" mode. The linear is fine. I had no problems other than cars tend to feel a bit light and all drive alike (except one other vehicle as it's heavy). The full range, however, tasks you to drive to a location on your map usually while avoiding or fighting enemies. This is normally not a problem except the corner map has a very restricting range. There is a full screen map that can be pulled up but to me it's way too distracting when you are trying to avoid obstacles or attackers as it's not transparent enough. It also doesn't help when some of these driving missions are timed, either.
The game itself so far has been challenging and fun. The missions vary, the cutscenes are well acted and the graphics are pretty decent. Bond is now given the ability to fight hand to hand and he knows quite a few moves and will use the environment to his advantage. When the lock on cooperates the game really flows well with crouching, sliding along walls and attacking. The lock on does allow you to adjust WHERE you shoot, so you can do quick kill head shots. However when the control issues rear its ugly head and you get gunned down due to poor camera and poor lock on it gets frustrating REALLY FAST. I almost threw the controller when I couldn't lock on to a guy in FRONT of me and got blown away. I highly recommend you rent it first. I have no idea how "big" the game is though we are getting through missions pretty quick on "operative" (which is easy-the baddies are cheap enough on this level and I'd hate to see how they are later).
And that's my 2 zenny on this game.

That's good to hear people say that "I'm leaning toward the GC version cause I do everything I can to support that system".
I myself love the game!! This is the most I have played a game non-stop for quote sometime. I got the game Wednesday when it was released and have been nonstop playing it ever since!!
I absolutely LOVE all the driving seens, espcially the Motorcycle ones. I have no complaints! (I love first person shooter more, so was hesitant at first about the new third person view in this Bond, but after playing it I think it's the best since goldeneye, and I own all the one's released for the NINTENDO'S. 8-)

I stopped playing all 007 games after goldeneye, multiplayer in that game was un-matched! eventhough my friends and I really enjoy multiplayer in agent under fire. 3rd person bond games? :o

Yeah I got a demo version from opm(?), and it's OK. The only problem is, bond is very drunk. Oh wait, he wasn't? Well he sure does shoot like it. Its impossible to shoot someone, and the motorcycle levels are better, but still no cigar.

Is anyone bothered by the fact that they keep shitting these Bond games out like Madden, year after year? I mean, isn't it still fucking green, still fucking the same?

You do have a good point there about EA putting Bond games out year after year. But it's not like they are all rushed, there ALL qualtiy games. Action Bond games are harder to put out so often and more work goes into it. On sprots games like madden, unless the controls change, all they pretty much have to do is change the rosters and change players.
I personally welcome all the Bond games. I mean I really don't like too many sports games, and they come out every year, so why can't an action title come out every year?
I mean if every body out there is going to compare all the Bond games to Goldeneye, well then they will be disspaointed. It's not like it's easy to come up with a near perfect game like Goldeneye, with every Bond outing. But the new games are still great, to me at least!! :D

I forgot to say that yes, they might be shitting them out year after year (well actually it's like a year and a half) but each shit smells and tastes better each time. :D
