i've tried fceultra and virtuanes (which is what i use)...but every side scroller i play has these glitchy looking graphics on the right hand side whenever the screen scrolls...this pic doesn't do much justice but it kinda show what i'm talking about.

Download FCE Ultra. I'm relatively new to NES emulators, but FCE Ultra is my favorite one so far. Easy to use, install, and supports every game.

He mentioned FCE Ultra in his original post. I've noticed it whenever I run the emulator as well, it's probably how the NES actually draws sprites on the screen and was just something we never saw due to the limitation of television resolutions.

Indeed, this stuff DOES happen on a real NES. At least, the SMB3 stuff does anyways... I don't have Code Name: Viper in cart form. Depending on your TV, you might not even see it, since it sometimes goes off the edge of the screen.

ok thanks, so long as it is not just me i will probably just horizontal position my monitor so it doesn't show for the emulator...unless somebody has a cure ;)

it can be quite distracting at times, i found it most noticeable when playying viper tho

doesn't do it on certain side scrollers tho...doesn't do it on batman and castlevania for example, but for both of those games i'm able to get my monitor to fill the whole screen, whereas, if you notice both viper and smb3 have a 'bar' on the left side of the screen...i know rc pro am does too (bar on left side) but that one doesn't have glitchyness on right side... alot of other games have it too, i just can't remember them all

also bionic commando has it on the TOP of the screen.

whether i'm on full screen mode or not it doesn't seem to matter (as i obviously didn't take those shots in full screen mode) it still does it so i don't think it is a resolution/video setting problem

I've always liked nester. Yes, Nester....Mr. Neverbeen updated. I don't mind.....I don't need any features really. I do however run FCEU1.4 on my xbox and I've never noticed anything. I may look into it.

You can actually change how far FCE Ultra draws horizontally, if you'd like, and completely eliminate those.

Can't play some of the pirate games because they support weird mappers.

From what I remember, FCE Ultra actually supports an impressive number of mappers... moreso than the majority of NES emulators anyways.

Yep, that's overscan.

BTW, is this what the "clip sides" option is for in FCEultra?
