"The Japanese video games market has been invigorated this week by Nintendo's new budget range of former Famicom titles for the GBA - but there is no news yet of whether the series will cross over to the West. The series of 10 titles sold through some 304,000 units in the territory in total, helped along by considerable hype and the tempting £10 price point (around Y2,000).

Top seller was Super Mario Bros. with 65,000 units, followed by Legend of Zelda 1 (47,000) and Donkey Kong (38.000)."

the only one i bought was Legend of Zelda. It does seem like they are selling very well. I bought Zelda at a convenience store and most of the other games were sold out.

I have a sneaky suspicion that these games may make it over to the States and elsewhere. If I'm not mistaken 1985 was the release date of the NES here so I bet Nintendo may release a special "NES" GBA SP with a two tone grey case, red action buttons and black D-Pad and start/select buttons along with the old games for a 20th anniversary thing.

If they do, I'll buy one of those too.

As for the famicom games, I didn't buy any, as I thought the system came with Mario Bros. I'll probably pick that up along with maybe Zelda soon.
