It pays to get the word out that I collect vintage video game stuff... a friend of mine was cleaning house and found his old Sega CD with attached Genesis 1 in box and gave the whole thing to me. The box is absolutely mint - with the Lechemere (I miss those guys) sticker of $299. I had a few Sega CD games I found at yard sales and kept - Sonic CD and Robo Aleste are both great and some 4-in-1 classic CD that is pretty good (but I have most of that stuff for the Genesis anyway).

Can anyone recommend any must-have games for the Sega CD? I know that not many games were released for this somewhat maligned machine but now that I have one I'm getting interested in getting more games for it. I will go and search for the top-games here on digitpress but I'm specifically looking for good console exclusives - platform and 2D shooters are usually my favorites but odd one-of-a-king games are good too.

Also, the Genesis 1 that came with it did not have an A/V video cord although I have several A/V cords for my Genesis 2 and 3 models (they don't appear to fit the same plug - the Genesis 1 has this huge A/V plug and must have had a different A/V cord). Ebay has cords for $4 but I might as well ask here if anyone has a spare 1601 Model Genesis A/V cord they can let go even cheaper ;) I tried to use the Genesis RF out to my older TV (which currently has my Atari 2600 hooked up) but I couldn't get the picture to stabilize. In the end, I had to hook my Genesis model 2 up to the Sega CD though it doesn't look as nice sitting on top as it's not the right size!

hell, there are plenty of good to great mcd titles! finding them cheap, however, is another story. here's a short list off the top of my head- more folks will add to this, no doubt:

shining force cd
bc racers (beat mario kart: double dash by what, 10 or so years?)
novastorm (if you like fmv shooters, it's the best of the lot)
popful mail
dungeon explorer (vastly different from the turbo version)
snatcher
lunar
lunar 2: eternal blue
robo aleste
dark wizard
dungeon master II: skullkeep (get a RAM cart, this one takes up all the system memory!)
soul star
battlecorps
jaguar xj2000
formula one: beyond the limit (if you like f1 games)
wonder dog
wolfchild
heimdall
vay
lords of thunder
batman returns (well, the driving sections, lol)
android assault (bari arm)
revengers of vengeance (well, I liked it, lol)
brutal: paws of fury
final fight cd
mansion of hidden souls
corpse killer (kinda corny, but one of the more fun digitap pictures games)

Soulstar (awesome 3d shooter)
Snatcher (Best sega cd game)
Heart of the alien (Sequel to Out of this world)
