I can't believe my f#$@ing eyes.

All three of the NES Panesian games just finished today on eBay for ridiculous amounts.

Hot Slots - cartridge only = $535.00

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3078462573&category=62053&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1

Bubble Bath Babes - complete = $520.11

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3078464037&category=62053&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1

Peek-a-Boo Poker - complete = $960.00!!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3078464965&category=62053&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBWA%3AIT&rd=1

Someone seriously has to be shitting me. I thought that $1,000 for all three complete was ridiculous when it happened last year. But $2,000!!?! - and one is cart only?

Worst part is, the same guy won all three! If he pays, he's insane.

This actually sucks big time, because now every seller will think that their Panesians are worth this much. All because of one overzealous dumbass!

Man o man...

Oh WOW. They don't come much dumber, folks. And don't forget: It takes *2* people to get them up this high. Remind me to contact these people if I ever need to sell something I want 3x the value of it in return....

maybe the market will flood with them because of the high prices?

That didn't happen when one of neschampion's complete panesians hit $600. *shrug*

Now take the #FeFea challenge: The high bidder has an interesting bid page. Look at his completed auctions, and tell me what he plans to do with all this crap.

Difficulty: Disturbing.

I also like his Me page. Any One Who Talks Like This Capitalizing Every Word Has Issues. Boy I Hope This Guy Doesn't Find These Boards And Me Ripping Into Him.

It takes more than one person to up the selling amounts up that high.

Edit:

Oops, I suppose I should have read all of the responses before I said that

Ridiculos. What happened? A loose Hot Slots used to go for $100-200, in 2001. That is ridiculos. The worst is Peek A boo poker.

I saw that and was gonna post the same. The sh*t has definitely hit the fan. Think about it, for what that dude paid for peek a boo poker, he could have nearly bought an NWC, which is a MUCH rarer game! x_x

All I have to say is please tell your children, don't do drugs, or you'll end up like this high on crack bidder. :eek 2:

I was just discussing with a friend last night that I plan on getting every NES game other than the ones that go over 75 bucks...(NWC, Stadium Events, Alladdin games, etc) This certainly makes my decision even easier not to waste my time with these things, unless I see them at a flea market for 10 bucks a piece...

Even an NES collector like me would have to Ebay them!!!!! I could finance the rest of my collection with one thanks to these idiots!

ya, i was watching these auctions as well. I saw the Hot Slots cart and thought to myself that I'd be able to snag it for a max of 200.00 as i'd been saving up to buy a rare NES game for sometime as my collection needs one. But no... 535.00 bucks tells me no.

God knows what the guy will do with these games after we have seen what other "novalties" he buys. Hot Slots... KY Jelly.... uh oh.

These games have been steadily going up over the past few years. It's nuts.
I guess some people can't get enough of 8bit pr0n.

From what I've seen, the $960 price is the only truly outrageous one. Complete Panesians have been hitting $500 for years (my records show a BBB going for $626 in 2002). Hot Slots loose for over $500 is definitely high, but the BBB is par.

The sad thing is that these prices are only going to go up. Nes collecting is currently making a move at usurping the 2600 as the classic console most collected for, and a lot of noob nes collectors are going to be wanting these. I need them myself, but I don't know how the hell I'm going to get ahold of the three of them without dropping $1,500+ US dollars. :(

Well at least that is one less person trying to get all three.

Let me introduce myself quickly. I'm a new member and recently posted a story called Genesis Envy in the 1989-to present lore forum. Now with that said, let me get into it. If you remember the 3 Panesian games that went for crazy prices a short while ago, then you know who I am. Don't get excited now, I'm not the buyer. I'm the guy that dude must be cursing out. I wanted to buy all three, but only had about $1500 to blow at the time . My max was $550 for Hot Slots and I didn't think it would go for that much, but I was trying to space the amount out (If that makes any sense). Then with Bubble Bath Babes, I miss-timed the bid and missed it all together. When Peek a Boo came around, my mind froze and I din't know what to put as my max, I figured I'd get it for about $600 and since I didn't win any, I just said what the hell and typed in the now famous... $950.00. I freaked when I saw: You were outbid! I could not believe this person actually had a higher max than me. I new I was overshooting the damn thing, but I didn't expect the price to be that high. So guilty as charged, you now know the back story to the 3 Panesian game massacre. Can't believe that dude actually paid. I thought for sure the seller would send me a second chance offer. Oh well, I ended up buying Hot Slots for $350 and Peek A Boo for $205.00 later. I feel bad for that guy, but he really wanted them and he got them. I'm still looking for Bubble Bath Babes. I don't want to pay $960 for it though. I've already posted a Want list in the Trade & Sell forum. Doubt I'll get a response, after all, all of us are pretty much looking for the same things. In closing, let me say: Sorry Dude, goodluck paying your rent!

So you're vidkid640? Can, ummm, I borrow some of your cashflow? :eek 2:

(that was a joke btw)

I can understand your story, so I think that loneeagle is probably more to blame for this, based on his previous bidding history. (i.e. Insane)

Either way, welcome to the fold. :D

I guess just when you think you know what something's worth you realize you're wrong.

These games just seem to have a certain novelty to them that collectors and dealers are willing to pay extra for. While they may not be worth quite what was paid for them in these auctions I do believe that their actual worth increases every time there's an auction like this one.
