So sound off! what collections have you completed!
I have completed exactly zero systems :( but on my last 120 for NES and 55 from a complete N64.
I have a complete collection of Atari 7800 carts which begin with the letter "J".

I'm actually 3 games off a complete 7800 collection...
Pete Rose Baseball
Rampage

and Asteroids I guess, seeing as the PAL machine has it built it ;)
I've complete Jaguar and NUON collections :)

OK here's my current list of completed game libraries. Note that these are completed US collections. I do collect imports but not compulsively so

I'm not really into collecting for a complete system yet. At the moment I just want the good games, or the bad ones that look interesting, whilst picking up the occasional rare one if I see it at a good price.
I'm in the same boat as Mankeyman... just not into the complete thing. I'd rather spend scarce money on games I want to play.
The system where I come closest is NGP, where I have around 24 games... maybe half the library.

Not an absolute completist here, either. I have about 100 PSX games, and might complete collections within certain genres. Maybe someday I could even have a complete collection of "PSX games that don't suck". But many of you would think it incomplete, for there would be no RPGs or sports titles. :P And the sheer volume! I pity the fool who attempts a complete PSX collection.
Besides, once the gloating is done when you complete a collection, isn't there a let-down? Or do you just start collecting for another system?
I've complete Jaguar and NUON collections :)
Don't suppose you have an extra Crayon Shin-chan?
Ack, yeah - that's one game I don't have.
*Scratches NUON off his completed list*
There were a number of times I was supposed to get a copy, but have yet to do so. It won't run on non-Korean NUON DVD players anyways, but still it would be nice to have.

Which means I'm just over the half ;)

I'm not very much of a completist either. I don't have the money to be, actually. The only system I'm close to completing is Odyssey2... I have every U.S. game (complete in box) except Power Lords, which I probably will never get because of the cost. I have the homebrew Multicart, so I can play the game, at least.
My "least" complete collection is N64... I have a system but no games! :)

A let-down?! Not if you pile the completed collections around you and sit inside counting them up like Scrooge McDuck!
Actually I've NEVER felt anything like a let-down when completing a collection. A relief, an accomplishment, a victory, perhaps. But as you said, there's ALWAYS another system to move on to. I'm working on my SNES and Sega CD collection these days.

Ha! Usually when people call me out on the "complete" lists, they bring up the Channel F Demo Carts, which I also own. By the way, I'm including homebrews as part of the "complete" list, so I've got all of the Vectrex ones right up to the new CGE releases and Tumber's recent games Spinnerama, Vix and Tsunami. OK I'm done bragging :P

The closest collection I am to completing would be the Intellivision with 80% done (98 carts, mostly boxed). This is followed by the 7800 (63% done.. and I have Pete Rose Baseball and F18 hornet.. picked em up at the CinciClassic for $5 each.. one in box), 5200 (54% done), Jaguar (53% done), and the Master System (42% done).

I as well have no interest in completing game sets of every game for a system. In fact, I don't even remotely like most games for most systems. I only buy the games that I want to play. But I obsessively collect those! :)

I have no complete collections... I'm working on a couple of small ones first... Virtual Boy and Game.com - I'm at about 50% for both...
Next after that, I'd love to finish my Odyssey2 collection...35% there I think...

The closest system to completing for me is the *gulp* NES. Except I only have 130 - thats not 130 away, just 130 different carts. I know, I know. You guys dont have to rub it in. Oh wait! You already did lol
I just dont have the money to finish a collection. I'm only 15 for crying out loud. WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT FROM ME?!?!?!!?

Oh goody, an opportunity to show off :) I've managed to complete the following:
Microvision (it's cart-based, right?)
Virual Boy (US)
Atari 7800
Atari Lynx
Intellivision
Sega Master System (US)
TurboGrafx-16 (US)
Vectrex (with the exception of Minestorm II cart or that Clean Sweep clone that I'll never shell out $1500 for)
... and 2 carts away from completing my Jaguar collection.

And I'm halfway to Genesis, 5200, 7800, and Virtual Boy. VB and Genesis should be done first, then SNES, THEN 5200 and 7800. I'm trying to get every 7800 game sealed, because I don't own the system.

The closest ones I have to completeing percentage-wise are:
Intellivision - 15-20 games Left to Complete
Colecovision - 25-30 games
Atari 5200 - 15-20 games
7800 - 15-20 games
Odyssey 2 - 10 games
2600 - 50-70 games
I'm NOT going for any homebrews, demo carts, test carts, imports, or "not officially released" carts. Just original American released games. Nice and Easy :)
ianoid
10-19-2002, 01:06 PM
Offhand I've got complete:
7800
O2
Intellivision (missing 3 boxes- anyone?)
Microvision
Adventurevision
Channel F
Vectrex (minus the Minestorm cart and some homebrews, I think)
5200
Jaguar
Lynx
Arcadia
Telstar Arcade
Video Brain
Tomy Tutor
Close but no cigaro:
Colecovision (missing Tournament Tennis and TB/MR double ender, not including the questionable Bit Corp carts)
2600 (8 titles I need- which makes me more about $8000 away from it- yikes.)
SMS (the list I use has all the UK titles mixed in, which is problematic for the N.American stuff. I at least need Bustick Douglas, but that may be it.)
Virtual Boy (Jack Bros and 3D Tetris, though I have the imports- and that Red Alarm Demo for you sticklers.)
Aquarius I need 4K, Melody Chase, Chess
Astrocade I need ICBM Attack and Solar Conquerer (as well as Blue Ram, Machine Language Monitor and Basic Demo)
Exelvision I think I've got 'em all, but it's hard to know since I'm not in France
RCA Studio II (Bingo, Demo and Test I need)
MP-1000 (I thought I had them all, but my list says I need Bowling. Damn! I might have traded this one recently. I do need an Imagination Machine power supply)
Odyssey 1- Interplanetary Voyage, Volleyball and WIN are damn hard to find.
If any of you guys have any of the above to trade or sell, do tell.
Far but no cigar:
TG16 I need 16 titles
Dreamcast I need about 38 titles (actively working on this)
Saturn I need about 175 titles. I just started collecting this last year
SegaCD I need about 100 titles. Same.
I HUNGER COWARD.

I'm not a completist either, so I'm not even close on anything. I can totally understand the appeal (I've collected baseball cards for years and have many complete sets), but with games I just want to own the fun ones. Why waste money on a game you know you'll never play, unless you know you can resell it for much more?

I'm not much of a completist myself. I'm more the type to collect the games I want to play.
As for the US store released games:
Vectrex (No Minestorm II or Clean sweep clone, most of the homebrews)
Turbografx
Microvision
Aquarius
32X/32XCD
Odyssey 2
Only a handfull needed for Sega Master.

completing a collection always seems to involve crossing that bridge where you have to plunk a lot of money on some cart, i cant do that even if it was in my budget to do so. that said i am relentlessly advancing on all systems like a vaccum from hell. i'm at 75% or so on every platform (aside from psx on where i'm not really trying yet) and still average one new cart per day. current obssesions include the NES, 100 or so to go, the gamegear which is bigger than i suspected and the final few SMS carts. i'll probably trade my way to completion before i ebuy my way there. i did ebuy my way to a complete coleco tabletop set but that was another matter.
this brings up a related thought i had --ATNN DP-- how about a collection completion computer? i was looking at the carts released graph on the master list archive and thought to myself "wouldnt it be cool if i could input my cart counts into those feilds and have them overlayed on the graph?" since i dont know squat about HTML or coding i'd like some one savvy and dedicated to game collector to create this, come on DP, do it for the people!

And since games like Air Raid are out there, there are only very few *possible* 2600 complete sets, right? Even NES has hundreds of copies of the rarest games (not counting NWC) and a couple dozen possible completes counting NWCs.
My question is: Does *anyone* ever see Sonic LE? I need it for my DC collection. I was also wondering if I should look for it CD only or whether it came in some kind of case/instructions?

More complete 2600 collections than any other?
Are you kidding? Good luck in finding/paying for Eli's Ladder and Video Life.
I believe that the 2600 is one of (if not) the hardest systems to complete. Sheer volume of available copies of certain titles will prohibit many from completing this beast.

I am no where near having a complete collection of games for any console.
The most it have is 30 for my N64 (26 PAL + 4 NTSC). However, I'm proud of my PAL games as they are all boxed with instructions and all in perfect condition (although my boxes for Cruis'n USA and Tetrisphere are looking a bit on the bad side...)
The least amount of games I have for a console is my Dreamcast - all I've got is Sega Rally 2 (which is easily one of my favourite games of all time), but I need more!

I have a complete N64 collection sans one damn you Activision, and I have a complete DC collection. And the complete DC collection contains all complete games except Sonic Limted Edition and Spiderman, which I don't have the book for (I got it at blockbuster, and so they tore out the instruction book except the cover).
I need Waterworld and Jack Bros. to have a complete Virtual Boy US collection.
My mother, also a collector, is a huge Saturn fanatic and she is five games shy of the promise land. Those would be Megaman X4, Saturn Bomberman, Steep Slope Sliders, Virtual Casino, and Winning Post. Altough with the exception of Bomberman, I don't think she's actively searching for them.

I collect for so many damn systems,it's hard to finish/complete them...unless I focus on only one..
I need one game to finish my Microvision (boxed collection)
I need a few boxed carts for the Odyessey 2 to finish that.
A few for Tiger R Zone, the Leisure Vision is almost complete..(waiting on package)
I started a Playstation game collection a few years ago..I got up to over 600 games and I got overwelmed...too many damn games for that system..with new crap coming out from small compainies everyday..
Lately I've been mainly focusing on Neo Geo MVS games..
But I think these TableTops are complete Yes?

my collecting is going a different route, instead of getting all the games for a system, I prefer to try and get every system. then after that I'll pick and choose which ones I'd go for the complete on. I might try Sega CD, Saturn, or TG-16 for completes first. I do have nearly 60+ saturn games, unfortunatly not all complete. However the complete games I have are the ones that count (shining force III, shining the holy ark, Sonic Jam)

I have over 30 systems, but the one I have first completed is my 32X. All the games are boxed and protected. Web of Fire was evil to find complete.....but was not the last for me(RBI and World Series were if you believe that!) I am about 150 shy of my NES collection. It is cool to collect entire systems, but finances and revenue are kind of "wasted" on finishing a system when they could be used to buy good games! My next goal is the fairly easy 7800(halfway there) and probably the NGP and 5200. I am two thirds of the way with my sega CD. It all comes down to if you want to spend your money on crappy games!

I'm not close in any of my systems, but it was never important to me. I guess because there are so many bad games for so many systems that I would never play more than once (yeah, like I get around to playing any of my games most days). Though, if I were to collect the entire collection for one system, I would probably choose the NES (but I just don't have the $).

Ditto. NES is the one I am currently working on because it was my real first. (Even though we had an Atari since before I was born, but never got new games during my childhood, and NES was the first one I really played.)
I'm starting with the Pixelled artwork games. The ones that use pixelled graphics on the box and cart like the Arcade remakes and early Nintendo branded games. I have 15 so far. Out of the 34 known carts I'm after. 10 of them I just got today (http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=366280#366280)!

Maybe they haven't completed any new systems, I dunno.
I'm not much of a completist either, but maybe I'll start seriously working on my Genny or PS1 collections. I've got a little more than 70 Genny games (probably half of them boxed, but boxes aren't a HUGE deal to me), and about 60 or so PS1 games (most of which are complete, VERY few without the original cases).
My NES collection has over 250 games in it, but the bulk of them are just loose that I found at Funcoland (when they were still alive and kickin'), bought in a lot of cases for less than a buck apiece. Might work on getting every game for it, but it's not a major priority.
