I know it seems like everyone is overclocking every part of their computer.
I even saw on The Screen Savers recently of someone wanting to overclock their graphics card (Not a very bright idea according to them). Then recently I've been seeing posts here about overclocking consoles - why? To me nearly every console I've ever heard of works just fine, except for Neo Geo CD, Sega CD and Phillips CD-I. I just am wondering what is the point to this, or do you really get any benefit out of overclocking a console?

Already discussed in several threads on this board. Here's just one of them:

The general idea is that certain games with lag won't lag anymore.

The CD systems you listed have issues that have nothing to do with CPU clock speeds.

Overclocking computer hardware is no big deal.
