Anti-Playstation T-shirts... any interest in 'em?

I'm thinking of starting one of those on-line T-shirt stores, dedicated to thrashing, trashing, and bashing that greatest of video game evils, the Playstation 2. Here are some of the slogans I've considered for the shirts:

1. Sony Presents: GRAND THEFT INDUSTRY. Only for Playstation 2.
2. Playstation: Celebrating Ten Years of Creative Oppression.
3. Fun? (picture of Playstation 2)
4. Sony: Eliminating Undesirables Since 1995. (picture on the back shows the words Gunner's Heaven, Salamander DX, Goemon, and Metal Slug 3 crossed out in blood)
5. Playstation: Why Play What YOU Want?

They're a little melodramatic, I know, but they get their point across. My question is this... would anyone here buy these shirts?

I would never buy an anti playstation or anti ps2 shirt. The ps2 has brought me games like Metal Gear Solid 2, Silent Hill 2, Rez & Vice City. Though the PS & PS2 have thrown considerable blows at Nintendo, even the Nintendo fanboy in me can't hate Sony. But that's not why I wouldnt buy the shirts.

Videogame shirts are not cool, that's why I don't wear them. Especially the free-be shirts that you get at EB. None of them fit. Seriously, not all gamers wear XL. Sheesh.

I do like that anti-cookie-cutter sports game rant though. ^_^

I have to agree that Sony is not helping to make this hobby better. Unfortunately the game industry is not like the music/movie ones and independent/creative thinking is being smashed because it's hard and costly to make a game nowadays, so isn't possible for independent developers to make a break.

First of all, I'm all for an anti-XBox shirt. I wouldn't own an XBox unless someone gave it to me for free (who wouldnt?) and even at that, I'd probably sell it and use the money to buy games for my other consoles.

I disagree. Imo, the video game industry is a lot like the music industry: There's a lot of overhyped crap, but there's a lot of good stuff too... mainstream stuff and hidden gems alike.

Makes zero sense. About as dumb as making "I hate Atari" or "Super Nintendo sucks!" t-shirts. I love my PS2 as much I loved my Atari/Nintendo back-in-the-day.

The music industry is nothing like the game industry. Because it is so expensive to make games the game industry, for all intents and purposes, only has big corporations doing things. The music industry on the other hand has everything from industry giants like BMG down to some guy in his garage pressing 200 copies for a local band.

Instead of bashing systems - why not come up with good T-shirt ideas. Gaming T-shirts for the most part are pretty lame, as far as I have seen, so come up with something good.

And in regards to all the PS bashing -

Vice City, Silent Hill 2 & MGS 2 all came to the PS2 months before the box. yes, Rez was on the DC, but it was never released in the states. Rez is one of my favorite games, so thank you Sony for giving that one. Yeah Sony has fucked some stuff up (Metal Slug 3, etc). But there's plently to choose from...
PS2: Silent Hill 3, Time Crisis 2 & 3, Onimusha
PS1: Einhander, Intelligent Qube, Klonoa, Ridge Racer 4, the RE series, Silent Hill, FFVIII, Crash Team Racing, Wipeout 1, XL & 3... Plently of excellent games.

I'm not a huge fan of the XBox, Halo is cool and Steel Batallion is undeniably awesome. But I dont have any interest in the system enough to buy it. But even so, I like the fact that MS is in the console business now, gives everyone a run for their money. And further, I dont go around giving the finger to anyone who likes an Xbox.

The design's a little flawed, because I'm new to CafePress and didn't know what size I should make the drawing. You'll also notice that it's more tounge-in-cheek and less angry than the slogans I had suggested earlier. It'll look better when I resize it.

Funny, I played it just the other day and came in 1st on several races. And enjoyed it. You either A: haven't tried to play it lately, or B: are a slave to the latest technology.

I played Wipeout oodles when it was released and I went back to it a few months ago and found it very inferior, I couldn't recapture what had attracted me to it in the first place. Lots of early PSX titles have been this way for me. Without the flash of cool new graphics and sound to distract many of these early 3D PSX titles are rather treadbare.

Unplayable as in the graphics, textures and framerate don't really cut it. Not to be a graphics whore but these kinds of games are inherently outdated very quickly. I would rather play a newer version of these early-playstation titles. Muddy textures and early 32-bit generation 3D graphics. -_-

It's like MSX Gradius vs. Saturn Gradius. Sure the MSX version might be servicable but the Saturn version is less straining on the eyes(less flicker, better resolution sprites, better(as in less headache inducing) framerate etc.)).

Why play inferior version games?

i got a shirt for xmas that was cool...from HOT TOPIC...had the konami code in non-video game text and underneth said 'the code'. i thought the shirt was cool as hell and probably the only video game shirt i would ever ever wear. but it was too big and they took it back and i never got a replacement ;(

i'll admit i can be a bit of a nintendo fanboy at times....and the main reason being i think gamemakers should be the ones making consoles (even tho sony AND microsoft made games before their consoles). but to say sony was the end of video games is a joke. the same companies that brought you excellent games on the nes/snes arre still bringing classics to the ps2. just because a console doesn't carry the sonic, mario, or zelda names doesn't mean it is evil....as a matter of fact i'd say LESS evil, video game prices dropped DRAMATICALLY when the psx was introduced, and that probably has less to do with cartridge costs than you would think.

A PNS2 is... well, you should be able to figure this one out. It's a little peurile... I was thinking of changing it to the RPS2 (aka Replace-station 2, since so many people who buy them are forced to do just that).

I'm not saying the Playstation 2 is a terrible system, but it does leave me with a lot of mixed feelings. I don't like the way that it dominates the market with an iron fist. I don't like that it singlehandedly took the Dreamcast out of the system wars without even making an effort to compete with it. I don't like that people are blindly loyal to the system even when it falls apart on them. And most of all, I don't like Sony's asinine attitude that if a game doesn't look pretty enough, it's not worthy of being on their precious console. That kind of approach toward game design should not be encouraged, yet Sony will continue to do this until people stop buying their system and start supporting other ones.
