Blockbuster has Acclaim's Freestyle Street Soccer for Xbox and Gamecube as an exclusive rental item. The Xbox cover has a very large Blockbuster logo on the cover, the GC version has a much smaller logo. The instructions and discs are not marked as exclusive. Looks like a collector's item in the making!

Thanks for the heads up. Have you played the game? Is it good?

No, we got it in yesterday but the street date in the computer was last Friday. Which means I have to wait three weeks or pay full price. So I'll be checking it out in three weeks.

right on... are there going to be any for immediate sale or are we going to have to wait for this one to go through tons of rental hand before we can get it?

Outlaw Volleyball: (i forgot the name) XB

It's Outlaw Volleyball: Red Hot. I bought it around Christmas along with Outlaw Golf: 9 more holes for Christmas. They're not that great. the volleyball one only has 4 playable charaters and one feild. Don't rent them. But at 5 dollars a piece they're not that bad for a buy. I think they'll be a collector's item sometime in the future. But the funniest part is Gamestop sells those one you can buy $5 new at Blockbuster for about $10 or more

It's rental only so far. We got 6 copies of each version yesterday at my store, but we don't rent a lot of games. Stores with higher game rentals (usually located by a lot of apartments) got a dozen or more of each. There are no new sale copies pending shipment, either.

No wonder I've never seen Final Fight Guy in the wild O_O
looking around, what's the going rate for a complete copy, I would'nt mind getting my hands on a complete copy, but ebay prices are outrages 100 buy it now for a complete one, that 30-40 dirty little hands probably ran rampent on

actually 100 BIN isn't horribly bad, Had I not already had a complete one, I would most definitly think about that one. only hold up is that it appears to have tape on the box, which is by far the hardest thing to find for this game and what commands the large price....they don't pop up complete very often at all.

Another SNES Blockbuster exclusive was Ren and Stimpy Fire Dogs.

Rental exclusives bother me for some reason. I mean, if you rent it and want the game, unless you're there when they sell their previously played copies of it, or find it on ebay for a good deal, you're out of luck. I wish I had been at a Blockbuster when they sold their Fire Dogs rental copies. I don't know if I'll ever play that game without using an emulator.

I am not a fan of these. The outlaw ones I don't mind since you can buy em. But for the longest time Freestyle soccer was set for a EU release only, just recently they decided to release it over here. I knwo cause I have been doing the xbox list, and according to every source I read it was a EU release till the last few months. I will seek it out though.

Final Fight Guy. Yeah its rare but loose goes from 30-50 depending on condition. I have one avail for trade if anyone is looking.

Online places such as DVDBO have it for sale, so are you sure it's only available from Blockbusters? Or do you mean you can only rent it through BB?

"Freestyle Soccer" has been getting some terrible reviews in the UK mags which is odd for a Silicon Dreams soccer game as they are normally better than that (SWWS'97, SWWS'98, SWWS 2000, SWWS 2000 Euro Edition & World League Soccer 98 & UEFA Dream Soccer Saturn/DC games to name a few) seems like they do better at real soccer type games than spin off ones.

Yup, HERE (http://www.dvdboxoffice.com/start.asp?class=gme&id=D14D186F-E942-4613-ACCD-77F691E0549F&wh=MAIN&s=gg&rate=CAD++%2D1%2E000+++++) it is. Could it have received a regular release in Canada?? Does the BBV one have the same cover??

The post about Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine being a Blockbuster exclusive is incorrect.

Not being nit-picky, just want the information to be accurate.

In addition to being available at Blockbuster stores, you could also order it directly from LucasArts.

Also, there are a few missing Blockbuster exclusives that can be found on numerous threads if you search the forum.

Good luck and thanks for the heads up on the new Soccer game!

it think it has or will have a regular release, just that there is also a blockbuster version of it. i think the game is mentioned in the back of the new nintendo power. i might be completely wrong though.

Interesting - according to that website, Freestyle Street Soccer is available for XBOX, Gamecube and PS2.

It also seems as though you can buy it directly, with no mention of Blockbuster at all.

Or you could wait, like two to three weeks after it dosen't rent and buy it used (barely) at a discounted price. if the game is any good, I think I'll smuggle one away and wait for a $14.99 price drop and a sale (probably within a couple months). Shocking abuse of authority.

Yeah, I've put away artwork and instructions for each one and have a copy of each held back that can be rented if we actually run out. So far, we've only rented one Xbox and no Gamecube versions. There's a window cling that goes up Tuesday that may drive more rents, but it looks like it'll be pulled soon.

I thought I'd bump this up because the used copies are starting to show up. We pulled one copy of each version today (which I bought), but stores that got more copies may be pulling a few of each. The price is $19.99.

The game rented very poorly; my store never had more than 2 copies of each out at a time and 4 of each were never touched.

Side note - we still have new copies of Outlaw Volleyball: Red Hot and Outlaw Golf: Nine More Holes Of X-Mas on the shelf for $4.99.
