Best Buy has a PS1 Greatest Hits Demo Pack on its shelves. My local store has about four dozen of them and the little sign says that they cost $100 each. I thought that they were free with the purchase of a PS1 but there was nothing there to tell me that. So maybe I thought they were free and that the $100 price was just to prevent people from taking handfuls of them.
So I took one ot the casher and asked her how much it was. She scanned it and said 106. I had to look at the screen myself because I thought maybe it was $1.06 ($1 + 6 cents tax). But no. I actually rang up for $106.00!

Why would you want to pay $100 for a demo pak? For that price, you could buy *6* of the Greatest Hits CDs.

I saw this too and shook my head to clear my vision. I don't know what is going on there.

Well it was free with a PSX unit back when the units were $100.00. They marked down the PSX units but forgot about these disks.
I bought a PS1 for $50 and argued with them and got the demo disk. I also went to another store and got just the demo disk for much cheaper with a little work. Just tell one of the guys that there must be a mistake. Its generally a friendly store they should accomidate you.
If that doesn't work place a large TV in your cart and ask someone else.

That happened to me last Christmas. It was supposed to be either $4 or $7 or something, according to the sign, but rang up as $100. Imagine my shock! They fixed it at the register though.
