I Have a Theory...
The rise in game prices recently on eBay.co.uk seems to be in proportion to the amount of coverage "Retro" games have been getting.
"Games tm" Magazine has a Retro section, Edge's "Retro" Magazine & Retro Gamer have all popped up recently. Along with Retro coverage on TV Gamezville (Sky One) & Gamepad (Bravo) have both mentioned or had features of retro/the history of a game.
This in turn means a lot more folks are getting in on the collecting aspect and have been digging out their old consoles and ether making a quick buck selling or deciding to buy buy buy.
Unfortunatly the new buyers have no idea of the true value of a game and are going after what they are told is collectable without having a clue on the actual value of the items thus pushing the prices up higher than they should be.
At least this is what I feel has been happening. Not true in 100% of the cases but seems to fit the majority of them
How about you, any theories on the sudden increases?
