XBox.... American developed, and still in production. My money goes there. To boot MS is developing the NeXt Box of whatever its called, adding to the line.

Yeah, Im pretty lost on this one myself. It seems like both.
Xbox is the most current out of what you listed, but im sure its not the last.
What about the N-Gage? I'm pretty sure it's all american...otherwise it wouldn't have sucked so bad. :P

well if I'm not mistaken, every component of the jag was developed stateside, and just about every part of the xbox was subcontracted out (some of which werent here).
so would you say that the xbox is 100% usa made?

Yup, Norway it is.
That and the fact that XBox's are manufactured in China and in Mexico. Maybe the base archecture (sp, sorry its 3 am for me) was what he was meaning about it being developed stateside???

Um.....Nokia is Finnish. As in from Finland.
They started out decades ago making tires, cables, etc.

The Xbox is an American console as it was developed in the US and released by a US company. With the way manufacturing works these days we are unlikely to ever see a console manufactured in the US again.
3DO on the other hand was developed by an American company but released by Japanese and Korean companies.

Parts of the Jaguar were subtcontracted out too. And even the lovable 2600 had foreign parts didnt it?

I'm not so sure about parts of the XBox being subcontracted out, I mean as so far as Microsoft seeking propeitary hardware for their beast. As far as I know, the XBox is pretty close to being off the self hardware - It's got a Pentium processor (Intel), and a modified Geforce 3 gpu (NVidia).

The idea of anything being 100% made-in-the-USA is a virtual impossibility in a global economy. Even venerable old Harley-Davidson has been using some Japanese-made components in their bikes' electrical systems for at least the last ten years or so.
If by "All-American" you are referring to the company behind a game system being primarily American owned, then yes, X-Box and the Jaguar would be the last two all-American systems. Does that mean they will be the final two? Doubtful. Microsoft will have a successor to the X-Box, and if the Phantom ever sees the light of day then that would probably count as well.
Being a somewhat fanatical patriot, I considered buying an X-Box when they were released for the sole reason that it marked the return of an American game system to the market. But my distaste with Microsoft is almost as high as my love of country so that ambition sort of cancelled itself out.
I for one would love to see a console made one day once again bearing the proud Fuji symbol, but the return of that king would be a bittersweet one since the Atari name is now owned by ze French
