I"m willing to pay $20.00 for the very first issue of Die Hard GameFan. (The first magazine issue, not the original catalog) The first regular magazine issue was October 1992. It was the Volume 1, issue 1 issue. Sonic, Mario and Bonk are on the cover. I'll pay $20.00 bucks for one of those issues in relatively decent condition shipped.
I'm also willing to pay some big cash for some other issues. Here is the breakdown:
October 1992 - Vol. 1 , Issue 1 - Sonic, Mario & Bonk - $20.00 shipped
December 1992 - Vol. 1, Issue 2 - Sonic 2 - $15.00 shipped
January 1993 - Vol. 1, Issue 3 - Battletoads - $12.00 shipped
February 1993 - Vol. 1, Issue 4 - Blaster Master 2 - $10.00 shipped
May 1993 - Vol. 1, Issue 6 - Cool Spot - $10.00 shipped
June 1993 - Vol. 1, Issue 7 - Rock 'n Roll Racing - $10.00 shipped
December 1993 - Vol. 2, Issue 1 - Cybermorph - $13.00 shipped
January 1994 - Vol. 2, Issue 2 - Total Eclipse - $11.00 shipped
February 1994 - Vol. 2, Issue 3 - Sonic 3 - $10.00 shipped
March 1994 - Vol. 2, Issue 4 - Tempest 2000 - $10.00 shipped
December 1994 - Vol. 2, Issue 12 - Doom 32X - $13.00 shipped
June 1998 - Vol. 6, Issue 6 - Soul Reaver - $9.00 shipped
April 1999 - Vol. 7, Issue 4 - Street Fighter Alpha 3 - $7.00 shipped
November 1999 - Vol. 7, Issue 11 - Rayman 2 - $6.50 shipped
January 2000 - Vol. 8, Issue 1 - Spawn - $6.50 shipped
February 2000 - Vol. 8, Issue 2 - Fear Effect - $6.50 shipped
December 2000 - Vol. 8, Issue 12 - Final Fantasy IX - $6.50 shipped
I would love to offer more per issue but I just don't have that much cash. Also, these issues can be shipped to me via Media Mail. I'm not interested in issues that are really thrashed. Missing pages, etc, etc. But I don't need the mags to be mint either. Just decent shape.
I also have alot of mags to trade.
Anyways, I'm a freaking Die Hard GameFan freak. I just love this mag. Especially the Dave Halverson era. I'm not as interested in the later issues, but I would eventually like to track them all down.
Anyways, help a GAMEFAN FREAK OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a nearly complete collection of them. But the majority of the early ones were lost (waterlogged, dried, and molded over) from a typhoon not that long ago at all :(

Yeah, I've heard you mention this a number of times. That your whole stash was basically ruined. That had to have sucked, big time.
Well, at least you had a natural dissaster ruin yours. I actually had a ton of GameFan's and a number of years ago me and the wife were cleaning out the Garage. At the time I wasn't a Retro Gamer, and I really didn't care all that much about my old mags. My wife said that my old gaming mags had to go. I agreed to get rid of all of them, except my collections of Die Hard and Next Generation. But somehow the Die Hard collection dissapeared.
I didn't notice it unitl I got into Retro Gaming, and started looking for all my old mags. All I could fine were my Next Generations.
It's a damn shame, because at least I could have made some nice cash on Ebay selling them, but they all went into a recycle bin.
Now, I'm paying big money for mags that I already had but threw away. Oh well. Shit happens.
After hearing about your flood situation, I have my mags up high in a cabinent in my Garage. They should be safe from any floods.

Hey, I hear ya. I sure as hell would never sell my GameFan's. But I'm sure there are some folks out there that have GameFan's and they might not really care about them too much anymore. Maybe they've already read them 50 times from cover to cover, and they have no more use for them.
There could come a day when I would sell mine. But I hope I never sell them.

So it's alright to start posting WTB posts in the main videogame forums now if we *really* want to? :hmm:
Anthony's getting his "maximum exposure" I want mine too!
WTB post to follow for Entertainment System Control Guide & 5200 Carrying case, prefer complete.
Also I could use the box & docs for a Wico keypad too. I'll probably just start a couple threads to keep myself organized..

Oops. I guess I didn't mean to start any kind of trend. It's just that with magazines like GameFan, I just don't know that too many people that brouse the Buy/Sell area would really have any GameFans to sell. So that is why I wanted to put the post here.
I know that when I first started coming to this site, I never really checked anything other than the main "video game forum" section. So I was thinking that if I just put it in the Buy/Sell, that people like myself would have never ever seen it.
I'm sorry. I definitely didn't want to start any situation where everybody else wants DP to make an exception and let there WTB post go in the regular video game forum.
My bad. You guys can move this now if you want. I don't want to cause any problems.

www.videogameimports.com has about 10 issues of Gamefan.
Some of them might interest you.
They are listed under merchandise.

Oh, no way I'd ever give up my GameFan's. Hands down, the best video game magazine ever printed. All others paled in comparison (Next Generation was pretty decent though). They were brutally honest with their reviews, didn't give in or follow to the media hype, and had a great sense of humour.
I have about 3 years worth of GameFan's and luckily, they were spared (I think, they're packed away in boxes now) when my home got flooded in the beginning of January.
The only mag I somewhat respect now is EGM, although GMR seems to be pretty decent.

Aaaargh. EGM is terrible. 75% ads. minimum.
Sadly, the only truly great gaming mags today are British. Games TM and Edge.

The fine folks at Retro Gaming Radio (http://www.retrogamingradio.com) have scanned in a few issues of Die Hard Game Fan, including issue 1. They are only available to Pass Holders and to become one is totally free. Pretty sweet quality too.

As mentioned earlier you have to be a Retrogaming Radio Pass Holder. To make it easy, just go here (http://www.retrogamingradio.com/studiopass/getapass.php) and follow the instructions.
No Pass, no mags.

OK, you're had 48 hours of "WTB in the wrong forum." I shall move this to Buying and Selling.
And, for the record, this is the last "Mod, don't move this!" note. WTB messages in this Forum will be moved as soon as they pop up from here on out.

I did become a member and it either takes me to the board, to the screen that cells the cd's or the search screen. The search screen is a huge waste of time. I search for something and nothing comes up. The guys who run the site need to figure out an easier way to have it set up.

DAMN! Everybody seems to say this. Yeah, I got all the Die Hard's, but I can't possibly sell them! Bullcrap!!
Come on, sell them. They mean nothing to you. These aren't the droids you are looking for. Move along.

Take a look at www.J2GAMES.com under Magazines. I think some of the issues you are looking for might be in there (I know I have close to 400 old issues of magazines, I'm working on getting them all posted to the site with the pictures!)
If you don't see something you are looking for, sign up on the site and enter it into the Wishlist... I keep a printout of all wishlist items and you get first crack at it before I post to the site.
Thanks! J2Games.com
