We've arranged with the adjoining Marriott for a discount for CGE attendees. It's $85/night, certainly higher than the off-stirp Vegas hotels but reasonable for most overnight stays across the country and a very good discount for the San Jose area. Booked. I must say it was easy to do over the internet. When I called the 1-800 number, the people were very friendly.

That price is great. Especially considering it is connected to the convention center.

It looks like the group rate is gone as I jsut tried to book. Rooms still avail jsut not at that rate. And before you book make sure and check out their cancellation policy.

I just tried it, no problem.

Remember, as stated on the CGE Discount page, you have to click the link provided on that page as that enters the discount code, AND you have to book nights between August 19th and August 23rd. You're still eligible for the discounted rate if you're staying the week but you need to call with the code "CGECGEA" to get the reduced rate.

Thats odd, I may have to call the hotel then. Yeah I booked arriving the 19th and departing the 23rd, and it said there were no more rooms at that rate. Kinda was puzzling since they had rooms avail. Cancellation policy is one night charges, thats why I said be careful. Well according to the e-mail they sent me it was.

Well the wife called the hotel and got everything straightened out. So I got the rate for all 4 nights. Can't wait!
