Aeroblasters (tg-16) vs. Air Buster (Genesis)

It's been a while before I popped either of these in for a spin. But was it only me or did Air Buster completely suck in comparison. I mean I remember it having a totally altered feel than the tg-16 version (which seemed closer to the arcade game in gameplay response).. Was I just smoking crack? :?

Anyone have an opinion offhand?

TG-16 version beats Genesis hands down, 2 player version is tops. The Genesis version was lacking in other ways, just can't put my finger on why, though.
