I bought a used N64 from EB and the thing is a mess. The reset button feels like there's sand in it, theres dirt everywhere, and the controller has this horrible stench.

so i bought a bit that can open it so i can go in it and clean, but how do i remove the smell? its really bad :eek 2:

I cleaned a used computer iside and out with a rag soaked in FeBreeze.

Took away the smoke smell real good.

Might work on an N64. :D

No idea..put the casing in the dishwasher? LOL

Generally, whether it be game or system, I will pass it up if it is grossly dirty. I've passed up some HTF stuff because there were chocolate smears on the console or too much dirt in the creavices on it. I think I once bought a game with a dirty case that looked like someone barfed on it and it dried up. I tried avoiding touching the 'iky' parts, then after i was done, washed my hands really good...several times.

I would have waited for a clean N64, personally :o

I would probably buy a dirty top loader NES or something like that, but I'd be careful with it. If it was in gross condition (all scratched up), and otherwise fugly and unsellable, I would probably pass that up also unless I needed parts...hm...

They (EB games) give you 2 weeks to return it--why didn't you? If it was that nasty, you should take it back, and exchange it for another one, or get your cash back! Don't bother with something like that if you have a return option!! Don't get me started on EB games either.......

They don't let you look at what you are buying before putting the money down? O_O

well when ebgames sells used systems for the DC or N64 for $10 shipped, how can you turn that down?

Out of curiosity, what was the game?
