Hi all,

I won an auction for a lot of dreamcast games on ebay. One of the games was Fur Fighters. When I go to boot it, I get to the Dreamcast and Sega screens but then it goes to the setup screen. I know early releases such as Ready 2 Rumble Boxing, Hydro Thunder and MK Gold had a similar problem and they were later released with the "Hot/New" sticker on the cases. However, I can't find anything regarding Fur Fighters. Did this game have the same problems? Or is it possible that my GD-Rom is scratched (there are a few very fine scratches on the disc, but nothing significant) and that is what is causing it? Anyone else have any problems with this game?

If it is the same problem, do these games work on any Dreamcasts? If so, what models (early or later models?). Thanks!

Dave

I have a launch day DC and picked up FF last weekend and have had no problems with it. I did have the same problem you mentioned with Rayman 2. The disc seemed fine but would never boot up. This is the first I've heard of other games having this problem.
Does anybody have any info on Fur Fighters or Rayman 2?

I've never had any problems with Rayman 2 on either of my Dreamcasts.

I have a black Sega Sports DC manufactured August 2000 WK and a regular DC manufactured April 2000 TK.

Rayman 2 plays on both
Fur Fighters wont play on either
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing (not "Hot/New") plays on the standard DC but not on the Sega Sports DC.

Does anyone have a complete list of the games that re-released? What was the problem? How is it that some games work on some DC's but not others? Did they adjust the laser or something on later models?

It makes no sense that Ready 2 Rumble works on earlier DCs but not later DCs. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a PAL launch day DC and the only games I've ever had loading problems with are SF 3rd Strike & Worms Arageddon (both refuse to load even though the discs are mint)

As far as I recall, the only titles that were corrected were the first four from Midway. I was working at Toys R Us at the time and we had to pull these titles:

Mortal Kombat Gold
Hydro Thunder
NFL Blitz 2000
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing

They came back in with the green "HOT NEW" logo on them to differentiate them from the bad ones (which all worked fine in my launch-day Dreamcast).
