For you hardware tinkerers out there: The Neo-Geo S-Video modification at neogeousa.com works great on the Genesis 1 consoles, and is a dramatic improvement over the Genesis composite output, actually much better than I had expected.

(Excuse the marginal photo quality, the real thing looks much better.)
So, this is good news for anybody that's disappointed in the poor video quality of the Genesis!
If anybody has any info on the 32X chipsets, drop me a line. Originally I wanted to mod a 32X, but they're Sega ICs and I can't find datasheets on them. Also, this mod doesn't work on the Genesis 2, since they changed RGB chips & the new one doesn't have the required outputs. I suspect the 32X may be the same story.
The next logical progression would be an RGBS->Component transcoder, but they're too expensive for me right now. If only there was an American SCART.
