I think that the phantom looks awesome, and that the logo is bad-ass! Silver is definately the coolest color, besides black, but hey whats your opinoin?

Yeah it looks good, but it sounds like tripe.

I ain't paying to download games.

a.) have to wait for download

b.) can't have actually software in hand

c.) everything else I don't have time to mention, cause I just don't care

That other console called "Ape Extreme is it?" sounds alot better. Putting a pc game directly in a console and being able to play it sounds much more intriguing than this console.

besides the fact that its like twice as big as the xbox, yea it looks cool

That's ApeXtreme (Apex + Extreme), however, I more like the Ape Xtreme myself though :D

And I agree, the 3D renderedness of all the Phantom shots look great. It definitely helps it look more fake. The silver curves just scream investor fraud too. Its shape will also it allow it to moved in and out of the gamer's ass after Inf. Labs pulls the plug on game/network support, giving them a $300+ suppository.

I think they tried TOO hard to make it look high tech and made it look like the equivalant of having Darth Vaders helmet on your TV shelf.

No sir, I dont like it

It looks like something to store old VHS tapes in. You know, those plastic ones that you see at thrift stores a lot.

Man, having Darth Vader's helmet on the shelf would RULE.

In case anybody hasn't seen the Phantom, here's a pic for you.

I saw him walking with the queen doing the werewolves of London. :guitar:

As far as the console goes, I'm not so superficial to really care about what the console looks like. It's what's on the inside that counts.

Well going on the earlier suppository comment it probally will end up being the thing on the inside.

I don't like it myself no real reason I just think it looks nasty.

Anyone else notice the direct correlation between the phantom.net forums shutting down and the phanboys invading other gaming boards? This is the third time I've run into this phenomena today.

Anyway. That custom case on the outside of the PC is real, I've manhandled it. But that's all they have.

Here, you'll see that I've placed a real dinosaur on top, for size comparison. I'm actually standing waaaay in the foreground, which explains why I look so huge. I can't explain where my pupils went, though.

Oh yeah The ApeXtreme looks AWESOME. I can't really play many PC games, so this will be great. My question is:will it be able to use a keyboard, cause wouldn't that feel more natural?

Anyways a;pthpugh I sound like a phantom lover, I really don't want it because of how STUPID it sounds.

Way to big. Has it come down to a system being worth buying vause of how it looks, I thought that was only with Famiclones.

yea the original was huge, but they supposedly got diff boards to make the whole unit half the original size. The phantom is supposed to be able to use keyboard/mouse/controllers i think.. not sure

i gots no sway either way. When you think of what some people trick out their box like their Hondas. this design does not excite me.

I agree with you. I'm not about to pay $40.00 + for a game I can't tangibly hold in my hand. I'm not interested in paying for a download, only to run the chance of having my $40.00 deleted off the hard drive. Speaking of which, what happens when you D/L so many games you run out of room? You have to delete games you've paid for, and have to pay for it again if you want it back? They need to clarify on that. Either way, I'm not interested unless you can somehow burn the games onto disc or something.

If we're just talking about looks, then sure, it looks pretty cool... but whether or not it's going to be any good at all remains to be seen.

Hell, screw burning a disc. I don't want it unless it comes in a case with cover art. I could *possibly* forgive not having a book, but it would have to be cheaper.

Personally, I think it looks really cool. I still think it is a really stupid idea. I don't really think it will sell well and I don't really want it, but I know that if it ever is actually released then I will end up buying it when the price comes down. Until I can get it cheap I will be very happy seeing it in pictures and hearing how bad it is selling.

In my most humble and honest opinion, I think the Phantom looks like the Xbox. Quickly slapped together, designed by a PC maker. No style. Like it's forced. The futuristic look is forced. It's trying too hard to look cool and thus makes it look not cool.

Bah.. Humbug.

You know, i totally didnt think about that, but at the same time, I dont think that there are all that many compaines that have liscensed their games to them, unless they are making a PC for your tv, and all the PC companies want in on that 1/16 of a percent market that want to play PC games on their TV, that dont already have it hooked up somehow.

I would have to assume that once you download the game you will probably be able to remove it and download it again at any time. There is probably a main profile for each user that states every game that you own that you can download.

Its probably like games for my cell phone. I can download and delete them and download them again once I have paid for them once as long as I leave the game signature or whatever on my phone. If I totally delete the game then I would have to pay for it again.

But, I agree with everyone. I would not pay $40 for a game that I can never acutally hold in my hands. That kind of defeats the whole collecting aspect.

Hey but think about this:the phantom might be an OK system. Although it doesn't have disks, maybe still it will be great. I don't know how, but come on, look at the gamecube. It started out rocky, but soon became popular. Maybe thats a different story, ut come on, it might be all right. Please don't get mad at me fore saying this, because I still don't like the idea.

You know what else looks cool? George Jetson's bubble car. And I have a feeling I'll be tooling around in one of those decades before the Phantom is released.
