In a nutshell a letter was sent by lawyers representing Infinium and listed things that needed to be changed (to "thier" own words) in the article HardOCP had written "or else". HardOCP changed five items (as listed in the url above) from the list the lawyers sent as the rest that, according to HardOCP, "were not based in reality [in regards to the article]".

Gotta love business these days. If this thing does come out and the system gets negative reviews is Infinium going to sue the reviewers?

Does anyone else reconize that HardOCP is in the right here and is defending what could be a major precesent setting case? :D

Quote from HardOCP document:

Mr. Roberts is once again creating interest in a product he is trying to market. We're lead to believe he has successfully secured at least $25 million dollars in venture capital, though has yet to produce a base of operations in the last eight months since the Phantom console was announced. Trying to successfully launch a new game console with a post office box as your business headquarters does not instill much faith in Mr. Roberts' latest outing, not to mention his documented track record of business involvements.

Personally, we think this is a prime case of “Buyer Beware”. We also encourage people to do their own homework and investigations on companies that step into the public spotlight looking for investors.

A freakin' P.O. box?! @_@ :shameful:

Very interesting reads. I applaud HardOCP for their courage.

The point is that Infinium Labs actions and public statements in the last couple of months did nothing to weaken the concerns, on the contrary, the worries increased. Not only the worries about the seriousness and credibility are real, also the reasons for the worries are real and well founded.

IF this game system will ever see the light of the day, which I doubt very much, it will be an alibi release which cost some money, wiill still guarantee good profit for Infinium labs, and the system will be dead right after it's birth.

Maybe Infinium Labs could just post another screenshot of Metroid Prime. I am sure that would help.

I second the applause for HardOCP.

US$ 25 million in venture capital? Can someone spell "game scam of the century" to the guys who wasted their money in infinium labs?

kind of ironic how it's called the "Phantom" console...
just a thought.
