View Full Version : An Idea for a sticky thread

I noticed that there are many people who work at EB and Gamestop on this site. It seems that unless you visit these stores, you don't know about the sales that are going on. I always seem to miss them even when I visit a store. Sometimes I don't even know until I go to buy the items and the discount will be on the reciept. It seems like they make it a point not to advertise these sales.

I was thinking that maybe a sticky could be made and the people who work at these stores could give a heads up when a sale comes around. If not a sticky, at least a weekly thread like the finds thread.

What do you guys/gals think??

I think that a thread started on each sale is excessive. If you want deal threads, I highly suggest you check out www.cheapassgamer.com, as there's a ton of that over there.

A heads up here every now and then isn't a bad thing, though. :)

I would like to submit that there is a website where this thing goes on already...

www.cheapassgamer.com

Just register and check out their forums...lots of cheap gaming goodness :)

You've got to be quick though...sometimes the deals only last minutes...

If I hadn't been reading the CAG forums at the time...it wouldn't have taken me 7 minutes to type that post ;)

I think this is a great idea for a thread too. Just becaise CheapAssGamer.com does this, doesn't mean DP can't.

Well, even though cheapassgamer is already doing this, i dont always check that, but i am always checking DP so I think this would be a good idea. one sticky at the top of a board isnt too bad and if it gets to be a bad idea, it can always be removed.

I once had a suit made entirely of this sticky thread you speak of ! Some days I would bicycle home from work in it and find that I had accumulated every manner of insect and non-living floating organism that you could imagine. It was years later that the giant queen spider returned for her egg sack which to my surprise I had been wearing all that time !
