I have yet to go online with my consoles. Been waiting for the right game. I hoped that Mario Kart DD would officially go online, that would have had me right there. But Resident Evil Outbreak is the only other console game in the near future that interests me enough to do the online thing.

But how does it work? I have an ISP, do I just buy the BBA for PS2 and then connect and follow on screen menus? Or is there a PS2 play online fee that I have to pay? I heard that SOCOM was just a get online and play (no pay if you already have an ISP...

can anyone clear this up for me?
Thanks.

None of the PS2 games currently charge for online play AFAIK. So yes, buy a BBA, hook it up, and away you go! The best thing about playing online is you get to learn about all the latest cheats as people perform them on you. :D

The only ones I know that charge are the Everquest (PS2) games. This one should be free though.

It will be intereting to see if online play for RE is hit or miss.

FFXI and EQ are/will be pay-to-play. Outbreak so far as I know you can plug in and play.

I don't know if it matters much to RE: Outbreak but there are certain PS2 games that are starting to become broadband only.

Don't forget to reserve RE: Outbreak at Gamestop, cause you get that cool survival kit. :P

Scroll down to Resident Evil: Antivirus Survival Kit (yeah, when you open it there's a misspelling...that's what I get at 3am web-working)
