View Full Version : The Rarest Games on Earth?

There are plenty of games out there that are supposed to be rare, yet in reality they aren't, they are just sought after. Radiant Silvergun, Castlevania X, dare I even say Darius Alpha and tons of other can be bought without too much difficulty these days, but they cost a fair amount of dosh.

But I've found two games I have been looking for for over 15 years. I look every week on eBay and nothing. Does anyone remember Leggit for the Atari 800XL? and Rainbow Walker for the Atari 800XL?

Fantastic games that I just can't find, not even on emulator (hopefully someone out there can set me straight on that!). The rarest games on earth? Maybe, just maybe. Damned elusive at any rate!!

Cheers

I can think of two I've never seen for sale (maybe someone who is more observant has seen these.) Air Raid for the 2600, which is a pretty famous one. The second is a Promo version of Gradius for the Famicom. It was sponsored by a raumen manufacturer and the power ups are replaced with packages of raumen! Pretty cool and I've never seen one.

Since I don't have the cash aquiring one of these would require, I haven't looked too hard, but I think these would truly be rare.

I've been looking for a game for the Apple II called Alter Ego for ages. I've seen one copy in the last year or so and was sniped on it.

The rarest game I know of is the huCard version of Dracula X: Rondo of the Blood for the PC Engine. Yes, there is one, and yes, I've seen it and it's for real. There were only 6 made, and I know a guy that owns one of those 6. It came huCard only, and has different music (and no spoken dialogue or cinemas), but the same graphics. I'm not sure how long it is, but I know it's not just a time attack version. I think the guy that owns the one I've seen is looking to get about $4000 US for it...if anyone was interested.

Interplanetary Voyage on Magnavox Odyssey. The game card # 12 only exists 3 times in the world, and they are owned by:

David Winter (France)
Ulf Svensson (Sweden)
Thomas Holzer (that's me, UK)

Actually, the 4-game set from 1973 for the Odyssey exists only 4 times in the world (Basketball, Brain Games, W.I.N., Interplanetary Voyage), owned by the 3 mentioned above and 1 unknown owner, who doesn't have the game card #12, but all the rest of the set.

I've heard Virtua Fighter Animation (SMS) is rare, but I think it's safe to say it isn't on par with some of them out there.

World War III for Sega CD and Yu Yu Hakusho for 3do. Played WWIII at my friend's house when he rented it once. Never found it again. Ever. Except on ebay, for an insane amount of money. Yu Yu, my sad story again, I traded for Soul Calibur when it first came out. I never found Yu Yu ever again.
