View Full Version : Modding an Amiga for 50/60Hz?

I've recently dusted down my A600 after finally locating a copy of Activision's seminal 'Hunter', and after hooking it up the first thing that struck my was how awful the display was. Admittedly, it's linked up on a big TV through the RF lead (a situation I intend to remedy asap), but after years of being spoilt by 60Hz RGB on all my main systems, the fuzzy 50Hz display was quite a shock.
Does anyone know if it's possible to somehow mod a PAL A600 to output 60Hz? Or point me to any Amiga resource that may know? Or would an RGB lead negate the problem entirely?

If it's an A600 I bet it has a Fatter Agnus in it... you should be able to switch it between PAL and NTSC fairly easily. There are programs that let you do it. I havent fooled around with mine in a long time but I remember I had a boot disk taht would switch me over to PAL and then I could take the disk out and put in a game and boot it. There was also a program that allowed you to switch between PAL/NTSC by holding down a combination of keys on the keyboard.

Thank-you! Nice to know it's fairly easy to do. :)
Guess I'll go try and find an Amiga resource that can give me more details...
