From the Blip Schtick Dept:

Anyway, I found this old Mad Magazine from '82, and it was an Al Jaffee writeup on Video Games based on Real Life.

Thought that at least some of the old Alfred E. Newman fans might enjoy it. It will last as long as my webhost does, which tends not to be long. Please don't copy. For educational use only. If the mods have any problem with this post, feel free to nuke it.

It harkens back to the early days of gaming. The Hockey game reminds me of Time Killers. :-P

The scary thing is that there actually WAS a "push the people into the subway train" mini-game in Sando-R: Puzzle and Action. It's pretty tough, too... you always manage to squeeze everyone in the train just before time expires.

Heheh, I think I have this issue too... I also have the Mad with Mario and Luigi (well, wrong colors) smashing a TV with Alfred E. Neuman's face on it... and there's also a Cracked magazine somewhere in my basement that is all about video games too.

Anyway, I have the "Totally Mad" CD roms and I remember seeing that one in it. It was funny. Thanks for the scans! I loved this bit.

Yeah, I remember that article - I think they cut out the "Bull"-Game in the German version, it's impossible to translate to german.

There actually was a real Lighter Side of Video Games - I've got it somewhere around here and could scan it, but I don't know wether it would be of any use because I've only got the german Version.
