Alright, I'll admit that I know nothing about this system. But, my buddies grandmother has one and she is willing to sell it to me. But, neither of us know what it is worth and I wanna be fair about it. I don't wanna rip me or her off.
Here is some info about what it will come with.
he said it is the version that has some wood grain on it. it has the system's cardboard box, but he said the box is beat to shit. he thinks it comes with all hookups and controllers and he said it comes with 10 games (mostly sports games like hockey and football etc) and a plastic holder for the games....
can someone give me a general idea of a fair value to offer her. i am going to give this link to my buddy then so he can see what everyone has to say.

$25 tops, assuming the games do not have the boxes and overlays. system boxes are only worth counting if they are in display condition. the thing about INTV games is that the basic sports are so common as to be nearly worthless in loose condition (think sonic on the genesis). essentialy you're paying for a decent looking, working console.

Agreed, $20-25 would be reasonable. BTW the woodgrain version is the Radio Shack version and a little less common, but really not worth any more.

The original Intellivision from Mattel had woodgrain on the sides.

I agree, the system (in working order) would be worth $25-$35. You should get a complete list of the games & ask again. Sometimes one game can make a big difference, especially if it's a rare one.

Well, I finally got to check everything out and play it. The system works fine. The box is pretty beat up. 9 / 10 of the games have instructions and inlays, but no boxes. The 10th game just has one inlay. Let me know if this set is still worth about $20-25 or is it worth more / less.

Yeah, 20 to 25 sounds good. Nothing special there gamewise. It being in good working order is a good find all on it's own.

well, my buddies grandma gave the system to him and told him to keep any money he got for it, so he agreed to let me have it for the price that people on here said, and since most people said around 25, he let me have it for that. i think that is a pretty good deal considering it is a system that I didn't have and it came with the box and a bunch of games.
Thanks for all your replies.

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but how in God's name do you have 400+ posts and not know what an Intellivision is worth.

well, I have never actually seen one in person before because no pawns or fleas around me ever have them. i personally don't spend any time looking up info about them as intellivision isnt my main interest and i couldnt tell you what any of the rare games for it are. plus, ebay prices always get inflated and don't represent the actual worth of a system, so i had nothing to go by except the knowledge of the people on these boards. if figured the best place to go for video game info would be dp.

I agree the prices of games on ebay can get a little pricey, but the systems usually stay around $20-$30. The one you have is not in great cosmetic condition plus the box is trashed. the games are incomplete & commons. So if you can get over $30 for the whole lot, you should take it.
-About Ebay- The games get inflated because some are rare. Remember, you cannot buy these games in stores. Ebay is one of the only places to get good quality games in mint boxes, etc. As a collector, I am greatful we have such a place to buy & sell these games. You just have to pick the right time to buy & sell. Right now its a buyers market.
