Which game do you prefer? The original Virtua Fighter game that came packaged with the Sega Saturn, or the Remix version, with the Texture mapping on the characters?

Personally, I think back then I would have preferred the Remix version, but now I would rather play the original. Even with it's flaws, I prefer the original because it just seems more natural, and authentic.

The Remix version actually seems kinda cheesy to me now. The texture mapping seemed cool back then, but now it just seems really out of place. I would rather play the original version, even though it has it's share of problems.

When it comes to games like Daytona and Sega Rally, and all the great Model 2 Arcade games, will these games ever be emulated flawlessly by the PC?

I really don't know a helluva lot about MAME and stuff like that, but as far as I'm aware, games like Daytona USA and Sega Rally and Virtua Fighter II, can't be emulated yet. Or am I wrong about this?

Also, was Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing, were these games Model 1 games? Will Model 1 games ever be emulated flawlessly?

The reason I ask this, is because I would love to play absolutely arcade perfect renditions of these classic Sega arcade games.

It would be sweet if Sega did a compilation disk for the XBOX that had Virtua Fighter, Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona USA and Sega Rally all done absolutely arcade perfect. I wouldn't think it would be that hard. But I would really want the game to be pixel for pixel perfect. Polygon for polygon perfect.

They're the same game. The Remix version just added the textures from the VF2 coin-op in a "hurry-up" measure to make VF(1) seem less antiquated. That said, I prefer the Remix version. :)

In time, yes. But you'll need to invest in a good gear shift / steering wheel / pedal setup to really get the proper feel. :)

Sega also fixed alot of the graphics glitches that plagued the first VF... flickering characters, body sections popping in and out, etc. The VF Remix engine was re-worked and then texture mapping was added. I like it better.

Try the 32x version of the original VF. It's cool!
