Has anyone ever noticed that there are very few video games featuring the planet Mercury? This includes, but is not limited to, villains or enemy ships FROM the planet Mercury. Why do you suppose this is? Is it because the planet is very small? Or perhaps something more dire, like a government conspiracy that has successfully cleared our memories of a Mercurian invasion from ten years ago? Either way, this frightens me greatly.

Did I miss something?

Gyruss has planet Mercury. I think they don't use it because it's pretty hot.

Errrr....how about any videogame that features DC Comic's "The Flash"? (Justice League blah-de-blah fighter and that GBA cart, as well as the old B&W GB cart featuring the TV show) After all, the character is based on the Roman God "Mercury." (Greek God: Hermes)

What about Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday. If I remember rightly, they land on Mercury. (Hey, I might be wrong, I played it on my C-64 like 16 years ago)

Space Invaders '91

Tron 2.0
Character named Mercury

Gran Turismo 2
Drive a Mercury

SSX
Mercury City Meltdown

Mickey's Space Adventure
Travel to the planet Mercury

Racing Destruction Set
Option to change to "Mercury Gravity" mode

Atari: Mercury Mine

Atari: Journey to the Planets

Atari: Shadow Ops: Red Mercury

Zork II
Died of mercury poisoning. :)

I would say in general Mercury is not used because Mercurian is harder to say than Martian.
