I just recently bought the Sailor Moon game from Japan for the sega megadrive. Anyway I have the american original Sega Genesis model 1 16-bit system. And when I put the game in it said it only play for American games. I was told I could use a game genie, but then someone else told me not too cause it wont work. So, is there any wiring I could do to make the game play? I would appretiate it if someone could help me out! This Sailor Moon game needs to be played @_@

Depending on which Genesis you have (Model 1,2 or 3) and depending on which board revision you have, there is a very simple way to Mod a Genesis.

Simply put, there are some "switches" on the circuitboard. A connection between a certain two tells the system what region its for. Sever the connection and solder a wire to each "switch" and then put an actual two way switch on the other end.

I'm not good with words to describe the process, so if you want to MOD a Genesis 1 PM me because i have the "How to" PDF from a guys website (i lost the link)

The PDF is very easy to follow but if you have a different board revision than the one listed it might be somewhat harder to MOD.
