Hello everyone

Is this possible if I download a sega genesis game from the computer and burn it to a cd, and then get a system like a sega saturn or sega cd or any of those systems and get a mod chip for it and play the sega genesis game on it? Like is that even possible playing a sega genesis game burnt on a cd and playing on a modded system?

First of all, this may be more suitable for the emulation forum, but Im not sure.

To answer your question, no, you cant play a burned genesis game on a saturn or a Sega CD from a CD, it's impossible. It's possible to play a burned Sega CD game or a burned Saturn game though.

But if you want to play burned Genesis games on a console, you need either Xbox or Dreamcast. I hear modding an Xbox is expensive though but it's possible to run almost all emulated games and system on it. Dreamcast i hear is a bit crappy in the emulation department. Im no expert on this because I never tried but I know for a fact that you cant play them on a Sega CD or a Saturn.

You can play roms on your Xbox. Gameboy, n64, playstation, atari, genesis, nes, snes, sms are some of the games you can play on your xbox.

Check out www.xbox-scene.com.

And as for the DC Emulation being crap, it runs pretty smooth for the most part, but bigger games (See:Star Ocean, Tales Of Phantasia, and Super Fire Pro Wrestling Premium X) Thier is an unbearable amount of slowdown, i'd suggest just actually buying the games.

O_O fanboy LOL

Anyways, I think You'll need to send your Xbox off to get it modded, which is expensive, and you need to buy a new hard drive, which is expensive. Approximately 100.00 or more to get set up, but I'm just repeating what I've been told. As for Roms www.edgeemu.com is all you need. Or if you want to be lazy and don't mind spending money go HERE (http://software.freepage.de/cgi-bin/feets/freepage_ext/41030x030A/rewrite/rommania/download2.htm#romnow)

You've already been directed where to go, now do a little research on your own. They've got a forum over there with a "Total n00b Guide To Everything". I'm pretty sure if that doesn't help you that a post in there forum will prove useful.

Modding an XBox isn't rocket science. If you're inexperienced at soldering, there are non-solder chips for the xbox now. A hard drive upgrade isn't required but definitely recommended if you're planning on holding many games on the HD.

I have personally done this on both the PS2 and DC, and my friend has done it on his XBox. It's not hard. Just go read.

www.xbox-scene.com

Get the chameleon with the solderess adapter, solder one wire to a point on the board, plug in the chip, install evox and enjoy neo geo arcade madness with a friend.

Here at Zophar's (http://www.zophar.net/consoles/ps2.html) there's a list of emulators available for the PS2. Remember to use these you'll need some way to boot backups (either a MOD chip or some other technique).
