View Full Version : Is it even worth selling these?

I'm new here and all, so forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. But I'm curious about something.

In the next few weeks, I'm planning to toss a bunch of games (around 100, maybe more) from various systems I own on eBay. Now, I'm not a sports gamer... and I know that old sports games rarely sell for ANYTHING on eBay, but when I was splitting up my PSX, SNES and GEN games into catagories, I was left with a lot of these Genesis Sports games...

College Slam
NFL '95
NFL '95
NHL All-Star Hockey '95
Pebble Beach Golf Links
Wimbledon Championship Tennis
World Championship Soccer 2

As well as some simulation/board games...

Death Duel
F-15 Strike Eagle 2
Hard Drivin'
Super Battleship
Monopoly

Now, I never see these types of games sell for ANYTHING on eBay. And, I'm told, eBay charges a couple bucks just to place an auction. And being that many of the sports lots I've seen sell for 12¢ if even, should I even BOTHER tossing these in there to begin with? Or should I just keep them as paperweights?

thanks.

Are the games boxed? Complete?

if I was ever forced to sell sports games I would tend to bundle them with system sales so that the system package would look better. but generally selling sports games isn't profitable unless it's something more off-beat rather than the cookie cutter "year" games

All loose. I got them from other auction lots, basically. Only my post-PSX stuff is complete, but thankfully no sports games for those.

Listing fee is currently .35 I believe. Then you'll pay a percentage of the total and possible a paypal fee. Should be a dollar or less total charges, but you're right, if you only get .99 for the game then what's the point.

Like others said, I'd bundle them either with other game packages or system console packages to pad them out. The last big lot of Genesis games I bought (about 20) the lady I bought them from threw in another 10 sports games because they didn't sell.

I've seen a few autions around that chuck a sports game in with the game you're trying to sell for free. This to me seems a good way to get rid of them and may even boost bidder interest slightly.

I bought one game that came with FIFA 95 for free, what a deal! LOL

They're mainly landfill titles, and loose with Genesis is the nail in the coffin towards getting anything respectable for them.

As said before, they could be decent deal sweetner.

You could always use 'em for skeet shooting....
